  2. Mishima by Philip Glass, Kronos Quartet (1985) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0075597988956 Example: More Philip for fun. (probably should watch this at some point.) Followed by: Philip Glass: Mishima by Maki Namekawa 2018 https://open.qobuz.com/album/svzhtflbqsm9a Example: I really like the arrangement by Michael (also the conductor of Kronos Quartet above). Lends a more delicate nature to the work, also I like Piano. I didn't know Maki's work before this. Added things to my queue (now at 854 albums).

  5. RIP Ian King - one of the guitarists for the FU's, local Boston band from the 80's, and later Straw Dogs. Got to see the FU's in the early 80's (stayed FAR away from the mosh pit!), and oddly again this year when they were part of a punk show along with a band my friend manages. They had an intelligent cynicism, even some about the punk rock scene..... Old: New (I saw them around this time, at another location):
  6. A couple of days ago marked the 10th anniversary of the passing of Don Buchla. While Bob Moog was the "kindly grandfather" synth designer, and Lev Theremin was "secret agent" one, Don was the "I did acid in the 60s and came up with such radical synth designs that 60 years later the industry is still trying to catch up with me" pioneer.
  7. I wonder if Flickr is blocking certain countries? I'll try my VPN. Hola, me llamo Arrastrando los Nudillos! ¿Dónde está la biblioteca? Mi amigo Brent tiene una cabeza gigante. Erm, I mean. I am now using ProtonVPN, with Spain as the exit country. The images loaded slowly, but they did all eventually show up.
  8. I cannot see them either.

  12. The continuing Nikon D200 v. Fujifilm S5Pro (in a D200 body) battles are fun. I have the latter, but those D200 colors look great.
  13. I spy a honda fit. The d200 can do no wrong* *As long as EV>10
  14. DOH. You're right. The D200 was one of the last CCD Nikon DSLRs and that is the reason it's so prized by collectors and eccentrics. The only CCD body that followed it was the entry level D3000.
  15. Sorry - works now... 🤷 Tried on phone and pc before. Nice colors.

  19. Futzing with the D200, special "thumbnail" edition: " These are the original resolution as shot. Nice CMOS CCD color science at least.
  20. That's odd - I thought the Instax were for film, but I'm not sure why you need this instead of a phone camera.
  21. Speaking of resolution options, Fuji continues to aim for a different audience...

  23. I've got a Nikon D70. It's 22 years old now (2004). The soft plastic bits are getting sticky but everything else works ok, including the battery (I think it's much newer).
  24. Last week

  25. Ugh. I got Nikon'd. 20+ years of shooting Canon and the rapid decrease in my ability to see has made operating my D200 a challenge. I was messing with the ISO and/r the WB buttons and fat fingered the QUAL (image size) one. For three days, I was shooting with my D200 at its lowest (2.5MP) setting vs. its native 10MP. I didn't lose anything spectacular, but it's certainly disheartening to learn one was shooting on "thumbnail" resolution.

  27. RIP to Cheetah Chrome, Guitarist and co-founder of the band Dead Boys.....
  28. Thanks! LOVE Kate, Jane, and Happy, so that's a nice compliment!!
  29. This was very cool, definitely going to dive into her music more. Reminds of the art-poppier side of Kate Bush/Happy Rhodes/Jane Siberry. I love good art pop.
