  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. I read an article about the best breakfast burrito in the Bay Area and the winner had cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon, beef tallow tater tots, crema and avocado. I didn't have tots so I heated up some fries and then fried them in the bacon fat. Adding a bit of salsa as I eat. It's almost too decadent and I'm considering going back to bed.
  5. Hope it's swirling fun day.
  6. Happy Birthday!

  14. Glad you enjoyed it! Pelageya has been one of my favourite singers for the past 10 years or so, she has a really good feel for the music and how to interpret it. She could be singing anything from Soviet love songs to new age pop and it all somehow sounds right. Singing in Portuguese, just because And back to Soviet love songs

  16. We Like It Here by Snarky Puppy (2014) https://open.qobuz.com/album/aazibgbisyolb Example: Killer set. After some research this was a Live in Studio - which they filmed. So: Playlist. I do like me some snarky.

  18. RIP Éliane Radigue, serious electronic music pioneer. She influenced the people who influenced the people I still listen to.

  21. Stay safe Knucks.
  22. The Vineyard has sustained pretty extensive damage from the storm. Apparently over a quarter million Massholes are still without power. EDG getting it the worst. I suspect this is primarily because of Chappaquiddick being more or less 100% down. There's a flagpole by the Old Sculpin Gallery. Seen here way back in 2009: It blow'd over the night before last: Apparently, those are the power lines for all of Chappy. That means the entire island is in the dark. I suspect most of the homes there that are occupied all year have generators. Chappy is "hard mode" for Vineyard life. Every aspect of living here is more expensive and difficult. Circuit Avenue, the busiest place on island during the summer, is completely dark except for one shop. I dunno what dark entity the proprietor bribed. That's the Corbin-Norton house in the background. I still haven't actually exited my house. I'm tasked with digging a path to the driveway and a few other things. I'm really fortunate to be one of the few with power. This is the exact inverse of my experience where I lived on the mainland for 20+ years.
  23. Actor Robert Carradine Dies At Age 71. Best known for Revenge of the Nerds. He took his own life. Apparently he struggled with severe bipolar disorder for decades.
  24. Pepperoni, mushroom and onion pizza
  25. I did this recipe today, and for some reason, made me think of French toast. Mostly the crispy outside and the soft inside. But also the sweetness. AQNEI5o45uP6-hbhQdgA4t3CyC5TSsM4mUb4R6fdezLunPXr5cpA9q2Cbw8VikSymhKZ53KycFP0EreG1IWczYRdhd5PEawtLiL-94RjhbVqKQ.mp4
  26. She's a treasure. Every time I've seen her live, she's been great. First time was touring Life on a String, then the show right after 9/11 when she did effectively the same set as on the live album, Live in New York aka Live at Town Hall, and then once at the Birchmere where she had technical difficulties and she was STILL great. I actually just quoted the grits section of New Jersey Turnpike to a group of people from the South that were arguing for and against grits.
  27. Good amount of snow here, I actually lost power for about 1-2 minutes earlier this a.m. But all good now. I've been worried about some friends and family in harder hit areas, but thankfully no one on my list lost power. My back deck has some nice blown drifts.....
