Started dumping rain on a 7 mile long descent, so I bailed on the ride when I reached the rest stop. Never thought I'd have to worry about cold shivers on an event in June, go figure. Still got 85 miles and 10317ft of elevation change in.
Tensioning of diaphragms plays a very critical role here. In my opinion, it's even more critical than making the stators exactly the same as HE90 or Omega 1.
Thanks Kevin. I made the male jack by myself since I can't find any good ones around. I have to sacrifice 2 pieces of XLR male jacks to make one Stax jack. I take out the pins and put them on my CNC drilled bakelite piece, epoxy them, and put them in the XLR jack frame.
Couldn't find an active discussion on diy stat phones so posted here. Finally some well deserved recognition for the master chef of stat diys: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/extraordinary-diy-electrostatic-headphones-chinsettawong . Wachara, the usage of car audio speaker grills turned out quite nice didn't it!
congrats again,

I am jealous of you guys.
Since buying my Trek bike I've been making it a point to ride at least once every day. I am so overweight and out of shape that so far I have been limiting rides to 10-15 minutes in my local neighborhood. I try and stretch it a little bit more with each ride. I want to get my legs and breath back and am working slowly at getting there. At the end of each ride my legs feel like rubber, but I feel good when I finish. I'm keeping a positive attitude and making sure I get out there every day.
I will post sparingly here but will continue to follow the thread for inspiration.
WSJ series "Anatomy of a Song" does LZ's "Whole Lotta Love".
Great comments from Page and Kramer.
Be sure and check out the slide show for some nice studio pics and the video for a rough mix.
