I wasn't going to post this, but because I know mayonnaise is Brent's favorite food, just ahead of biscuits, I felt that I had no choice. Made sriracha aioli tonight, and it is amazing.
That's the Kowloon discount. I think the amount for something that would rival a Savile row suit is more around $2K with lifetime adjustments. I will be in HK a lot in the next 3 months, and you could crash at my place.
I picked up some of that overpriced "acoustic foam" that you place underneath monitors to tighten up the vibrations and by golly I think it actually works. My stands are metal and you could feel vibrating due to the bass of the stealths, they definitely vibrate much less and the bass was fantastic, ridiculous at certain points.
I finally got the HV caps and the PS up and running.
The voltages look good including bias and pre-reg voltages.
I mounted the transformer and board to a temporary wood cutout that I milled. Fit looks good.
The wiring is nice and neat...
Here you can see the transformer in the steel case mounted to top plate (wood for now)...
So far so good
Yes, now We are with winter training. I'm working for a tour around the island on April. Also here in Gran Canaria we have the highest mountain pass in Europe: http://ciclored.com/puerto-mas-duro-europa-pico-nieves/
Next year (if I have a good feeling on November) I want to try climb it.
Do not fret my friends... I have discovered a replacement. Chicago's Dog House on Fullerton.
Recipe copied with direct input from Doug. Same vendor. Same ingredients. Slightly modified aioli but it tastes as close as you're gonna get. They put a decent amount more Foie Gras on top, to boot.
The rest of the board.
Mayor Daley and Snoop Dog.
And dessert! Deep fried Twinkie.
Resurrection!
The stealth 6's came in today, have been playing for a few hours. Here are my purposefully bland impressions meant to temper my excitement.
They are very black and very stealthy.
But they are huge.
The ribbon tweeters appear to be very much working.
The woofers sound like they are producing bass.
I've been listening for a few hours straight now non stop.
The speakers are filling my room with a lot of sound.
WAF.
