  3. Well, sounds like homeowners may help pull my bacon out of the fire. At least a claim is going, hopefully it will help dampen the blow of that crap.

  6. I got a boneless master carved ham from costco, and sous vide'd it at 140 for 5 hrs, then finished it with a honey mustard seed glaze. No pictures, and it got wiped out at dinner.

  8. Greetings to the entire collective of Head-Case.org, this is my first post and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I write to you from Spain. Long time ago I use headphones, but just three years I have serious devices, the same time that I am a member of the best forum headphones in my country. In fact I see some familiar faces here . I have academic background in electronics and electricity and have interest in DIY projects developed in this community, especially the electrostatic headphones amplifiers, in fact want to start building a KGST. I ask you to forgive my English, is very bad and I'm sure many will say stupid things, I hope not to bother too much with them. Also take this opportunity to thank Remolon for discover me this project, Jose for encouraging me to build and especially to Headinclouds for providing me purchase of the material. To all of them thank you very much friends. Nice to be here with you. Fernando

  10. Got the LX521's fired up. Apart from a temporary hum problem, everything connected up and worked right off. I honestly have heard nothing remotely like them. The first thing that hits you is the imaging (or "phantom acoustic scene" as Linkwitz terms it). They are twitchy regarding positioning - I was underwhelmed first off until I used a tape measure to set them equally from side and end wall, and then frigged a little with toe in. At which point I've spent 4 hours having my socks blown off. They are punishingly neutral, to the extent that truly great recordings sound awesome, and ones that are poorly recorded sound desperately bad - like having a camera into the the head and stone deafness of the recording engineer. Mind you, I overdid the amp heatsinks - they got slightly tepid after four hours solid at pretty high listening levels. All interconnections are balanced, and colour coded throughout to prevent something dumb (like putting the bass output through the tweeter). Amp to speakers is an 8-pole speakon, for the same reasons - regular speaker connectors offer too many possibilities for getting it wrong.

  11. The style of bike that interests me these days is an upright, cruiser style. But a more stripped down version. The two on the top of my dream list would be the 2015 Indian Scout and the Triumph Rocket III. http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/scout-silver-smoke http://www.triumphmotorcycles.com/bikes/rocket/2015/rocket-iii-roadster No doubt the giant 3 cylinder Rocket is the quicker bike, but I'm more drawn to the Scout. That's a whole lot of style for 11 G.

  12. I have a Fortis. I like it a lot. Edit: Please excuse the overall lack of quality of this picture. I took it before I figured out how to edit photos.

  16. Here we go... woke up this morning to temps in the low single digits. The wind hasn't started yet but is predicted to be 15-25mph with gusts over 40 by the end of the day. Oh, and there's this.

  20. Went out to eat with a Mexican lesbian friend of mine I used to work with but haven't seen in a couple years. We spent 3 hours catching up over Mexican food and a pitcher of margaritas. Day drinking makes me happy. Now back home to let the car cool off to do spark plugs and change a dead ignition coil. Good times. **BRENT**

  23. That's a part of my youth right there. Mom is still a Cubs fan, but I remember Ernie from my youth. Such an always up, positive kind of guy. Weird that this one is hitting me a little hard. I can remember watching him foul off 5 - 10 balls in a row, just measuring up a pitcher to then hit one out of the park. So good in his prime. So maybe I need to go to Wrigley this year on a warm, sunny day and think "let's play two today!"

  24. Rented a house in Sonoma. This is the nearly life-sized sculpture waiting when you walk in the front door. Talk about setting expectations for the weekend.
