  2. Flash fried octopus with gochujang Smoked boar ribs Barrel aged negroni
  3. RIP Harper Lee. She did write the Great American Novel. IMHO Mockingbird couldn't have been more important for someone who grew up in the South during the early 60's.

yes that makes sense. 12 o'clock is where many preamp outputs are ~line level. BTW I forgot to mention that I also have added -12db attenuators in my TEAC (unbalanced) bypass input
  5. Happy Birthday Ginger Avenger. You have come a long way from the kid with the off the rack rain repellent business suit and a total of two neck ties eating BBQ at the gas station.
  6. Happy Birthday, Colin!

  11. Always interesting to see how different folks hear things (read: prefer / dislike) so differently. I'm no spring chicken and I've found that I don't do well with "bright", especially as my hearing deteriorates with age. I very much enjoy the new 007A fed by the Ygg and powered by the KGST (although I'm dicking around with pots/attenuators at the moment). I want a Lambda, but I'm hesitant for fear of it being too bright to my hearing. No point having yet another headphone just sit there. For example, I enjoyed by HD650's when I used them more...they've been set aside by my 007A's and the TH900's (the Fostex at times/on a few songs can be a bit peaky on the treble for me but I simply turn down the volume...they're way too fun to part with when powered and fed well). To each his own... HS

After looking around some more I finally settled on the Pioneer XDP-100R. Physical volume knob, more recent version of Android (than Sony, who are still running a 4.X version as opposed to the 5.X version running on the Pioneer, and yes I know it isn't the latest), two MicroSD slots, upcoming MQA support, cheaper than the Sony ZX2 (even a used one). Everything else out there seemed to have *some* kind of compromise, whether it be cost, lack of a feature I wanted, an older software version (once I decided I wanted to run Android), or some such. I ruled out the ZX100 because I want to be able to run Tidal on the device, and that one doesn't do Android (but I suppose that has its advantages as well). We'll see how it sounds! Thanks for the tips!

I can get them cheaply. Let me know if you need. They are something like these:
  14. Thanks everyone! It was a good, fairly quiet day.
  15. Grilled Cheese Mac & Cheese in Shots of Tomato Soup. Yosemite,Sunset at El Capitan and Half Dome. Patagonia morning.
  16. I gave this a try after a few people here had it rated in their top 5 desert island albums lists. Boy am I glad I did! The musicianship and instrumentals are incredible. The growly vocals feel like an acquired taste, but that didn't hurt my enjoyment of the album.
  17. Thanks guys! Low key day. Went to work, then went out to eat with mom and her hubby. At the point I asked the waitress for the Senior discount, my Mom yelled out "Oh shit, I forgot your Birthday! Made my day!
  18. What a difference a night makes
  19. The SC-1 is similar from memory but I will get a new one soon. I've been buying all the important Lambdas recently with the entire stash still sitting in Japan. Then it will be time to build some sort of a display for the entire Stax collection.
  20. This bridge rated to carry fatheads.
  21. A Pass first watt could be worth investigating.
  22. For reasons which will become clear and are entirely Steve's fault, I'm on the east side again, and happening to be in the same parking lot as the dumpling place I went this weekend. Mixed flavor beef shank Pork chao shou Braised beef burger Shrimp and pork steamed dumplings
  23. Hello Paolo! Glad to see you posting over here. Thanks for sharing your LS50 setup.
  24. This is what Steve is talking about Nom Nom Nom
  25. Went out to western Connecticut to go for a walk in the woods with some llamas.
