  1. I would wear one of them. I'm not sure I'd buy one, though, if that makes sense.

  2. In this case its an arc , a direct short , however the meter does measure leakage ... you will get voltage leakage before you get an arc . You select a voltage and it will give you a resistance value ... you then work out from there using I=VR to determine the current ... Type of Equipment Maximum Leakage Current Class I 0.75mA for hand held devices 3.5mA for other devices Class II 0.25mA Class III No hazardous voltages Both gave an open circuit test @1000v with the meter with nylon , the ceramic gave resistance value @ 1000v with the steel bolt and the mica gave an arc fail . The silicon gave an arc fail @ 1000v with both the nylon and steel bolt What i have done is a modified HiPot test .. i have tested well above the required insulation as a longevity test, however 220v is normally tested @ 1400v for a pass ... so 440v would require 2800v for a pass ... none of the options currently selected could pass that test .. but both the mica and ceramic give a definite 1000v pass with 0 leakage at all . http://carelabz.com/what-leakage-current-testing-measuring-how-leakage-current-testing-measuring-done/

  3. I usually work with imperial system in Proteus as I find it pretty convenient. For my 10K Afternoon Run the metric system is way more comfortable. The voltage cross 2sa1486 is 580 – 590 V. That’s why I chose between stn9360 and 2sa1486. I guess you could use a pair of ksa1156 and split the voltage cross them.

  4. Ok, the T4 is both gorgeous and interesting. I think @dsavitsk needs to sod off with all this temptation. Given his track record, I'd love to hear this (though I'm unlikely to see one kicking about in the UK).

  6. I've been obsessed with Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" since the first time I heard it in the early 1980s. I think it's their signature song. It sums up the band's inter-relationships, dysfunction and cocaine usage perfectly. Just about everyone knows the studio version. Let's take a journey through some live versions. Live at some major festival, 2015. I dislike this one the most. Stevie's voice is going, but that's the least of my complaints. At this point the band is doing this for cash, and it shows. Lindsey Buckingham is a smarmy douche his awful personality just radiates out from him. Also, this live take manages to completely remove the balls from the song's famous bassline. Live, 1982. Only plays in the left channel. Stevie (and the rest of the band) are coked to the GILLS. Her voice is in tatters, the rest of the band is sloppy. This rendition is terrible, but somehow authentic. It really conveys the state of the band in 1982. Live 1977. Now this is magic. Steve's performance here is actually BETTER than the studio version. At 2:19 she hits the high note so beautifully that it actually causes Lindsey to look over at her for a second. It's goosebumps inducing. I can only imagine what it was like to be there at that show. Oh, and this is a peek in my virtual record bag:

  7. Note that KG's boards are designed to use the ceramic insulators - you can see the thickness of the insulator outlined on the board where there are on-board heat sinks. Considering the minimal cost and the fact that they have been used on many successful builds without issues, I don't see the point in playing around with mica or silicon insulators, other than contrariiess.
