  2. Almost missed this one. Have a fantastic Birthday Marc! I remember when your first child was born. And you were the first person in this forum that I came out to in person. We've built some amazing projects together, and I consider you and your family among my closest friends!

  3. This seems to be pretty well done. With the added bonus of actually being filmed in Anchorage. I recognize all of the buildings and locations. Even filming inside The Captain Cook hotel, where I once worked.

  4. This is the 5 ply copper core set that I own and love. It's not my first set of Costco, Kirkland brand 5 ply stainless cookware though. I purchased a set in 1997 and loved and used that set until 2017. It was in fantastic condition even then, and probably still is, the only problem being it was strewn all over South Texas by hurricane Harvey (no relation to Shelly). In 1992 I was commercial fishing in the Bering Sea. I was making good money and decided to treat myself to a set of All Clad cookware. I believe it was an 8 piece set, and if memory serves I paid about $1,200. I did love that cookware! But when I moved from San Francisco back to Alaska in 1994, I sold the set to my roommate, who also loved them. 3 years later, seeing the set at Costco for under $200, I thought they would be no match for the All Clad, but my wallet wasn't as flush at that time. As it turned out I thought they were as good as the All Clad, still do. But this new set is even better, with the copper core. And pretty sexy looking if I do say so. I can't recommend this set of Cookware enough, and there is absolutely a cult following from many chefs across the country. Oh yeah, 25 years later, and with a copper core, still under $200!

  5. This. Just finished Katie's book. It was good and I got more out of it than I thought. I didn't know much about 'vacuum decay' and 'big rip' before, so there was new science here for me. She used analogies and humor well, it is written in her voice as I know her.

  6. Was able to nail together the ottoman for the lounge chair setup out front. My Total Boat Wood Sealer I used on the chair has gelled up on me so I tried to thin it down as the stuff is out of stock everywhere. Hopefully it behaves in it thickish oil current format.

  8. Picked up a little mid-60s Omega Seamaster dress watch. A new green Horween shell strap and voila: the watch I wanted the Cartier Drive to feel like on the wrist. Keeps -10, which ain’t bad at all (it was given a VERY basic service by the seller).

  9. I used an enameled cast iron dutch oven to make Cauliflower Au Gratin. This particular dutch oven is not a $350 Le Creuset or Staub. It's a $45 Amazon Basics. Is it as good as the big $ Le Creuset... Probably not, but I've used it quite a lot in the 3 years I've had it, and I'm pretty impressed with it. I do plan on buying the smaller version.

  10. Forgot to take pic after baking, but it looked and tasted pretty good. Al cooked some different gourmet sausages, and it was a fantastic pairing.

  13. Making Cauliflower Au Gratin for the first time. I successfully made a smooth Bechamel sauce. Then turned that into a Mornay sauce. Blanched my Cauliflower florets. Combined all and refrigerated until time to bake for dinner at DOTU's this evening. Three cheeses. Mozzarella, Monterey Jack and Parmigiano. I'm sure it will look better after baking.

  14. Midnights (3am Edition) Taylor Swift 2022 https://album.link/i/1650841512 Example: Seeing what the kids are making these days (kids being long established artists in their 30s). Overall a good listen. Lots of talk-singing and some good singer songwriter moments throughout the album. Kids got some talent.

  17. From what I have read the membranes are actually “normal” thickness somewhere between 1.5 to 2.2 microns and the graphene particles are embedded in the membrane material itself which is made of something entirely different. This cut and paste from an Audeze rep on the “other” site: “CRBN's nano-tube infused film is between 1.5 - 2.2 microns, I can only provide a range not a specific number Also beyond a certain point it does not make much sense to chase thinness, air-loading starts to dominate, stability and robustness become more important. We have even tried 0.5 micron thin version...“
