  1. Odyssey opened a very limited run of spots for Argos this morning that sold out in under 30 minutes. Fortunately I grabbed one in time. Starting with 6 bar for turbo shots + the Bluetooth add on. won’t be here for a while but glad i’m in line now. also my P100 arrives next week so will have a couple months minimum to break in on filter.

  2. In Feb. 1964, Sgt. Buddy Dresner of the Miami Police Department provided security to the Beatles while they were in town to do Sullivan. They hit it off, and Buddy invited them to have dinner at his home.

  3. Had no idea the Hammer bandsaw came with seating. Fancy. Really like that Redwood. Cannot really get it easily around here. Speaking of wood, is the considered quilted maple or one of the other million types of figuring?

  6. I actually need to read that next. I read Slant, not realizing it was book 4 in a series, and thought it was great.

  8. From my understanding some of the internal filling also needs to be cut out with a knife. But yes, I think it sounds best as-is with the old brown pads and the springs in place. Bass control and impact is never going to the best, a bit soft, but it's smooth, non-sibilant with great imaging and detail. The general problem is that while certain mods might end up working nicely for some, the headphones will sound vastly different depending on the amp, source, cables, positioning on the head, etc. just a handful of other factors involved.

  9. My brother had his new garage designed to emulate the oldest building in town, which is called the Woodside Store and is now a museum. The back side has a wrap around covered porch like the original shown below. Tom took me there last week to show me some benches and feed troughs that he thought were cool. He wondered whether I might be able to replicate them with the reclaimed redwood that Steve and I have been using to panel his wife's tack rooms. Here are some lousy pics of the originals. I brought a stack of the redwood home to finish planing and milling and decided to take a stab at them. I didn't do measurements but used those pics to make designs and a template that I used for the bench legs and trough dividers. Here are some crappy pics of the two benches, one standing trough and one low one I made.

  10. *Sigh* why can't we have nice transistors?... I have updated the schematic to show both KSA/KSC and TTA/TTC series transistors. I'm working on changing the gerbers so that leg twists will not be needed 🙂 One channel done, I think, needs checking...
