  2. Nothing seems out of ordinary to me based on your description. If the offset trim pots are responding but you cannot get the offset to 0V, most likely you just need to trim the value of the resistors in series with the trim pots. I am going by memory without seeing the schematic but this information is in this thread somewhere.
  3. The woman friend that Freddy Mercury left his Kensington home and all contents to in his will, is selling everything at auction. She said in an interview on R4: "it is time to put my affairs in order" which kind of implies that she has some serious health condition. She wants to sell things now rather than someone else (probably an executor) sell everything later. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/apr/26/freddie-mercury-collection-of-splendid-things-up-for-auction
  4. The Poll Winners Ride Again! Barney Kessel, Shelly Manne, Ray Brown 1959 https://album.link/i/1444008734 Example: This Jazz is so jazzy. In the best way. Great gathering and set. There is still a lot of magic to be found in 1959.

  7. Got the last set of maple vice jaws from In-Kleind and the mounting points and through holes are almost a full 1/4” off center so that required dramatic work to salvage and keep the length. Now that I have the maple vice jaws on, I think i am going to build more Jatoba jaws as the Maple bores me.
  8. Hello! I am a new member of the forum. I am not a native English speaker. Hope you can understand my words. Are electrostatic headphones suitable for listening to rock and some metal music? I like listening to some bands like Lacirmosa, Metillac, Green Days, and The offspring. I also like listening to Haggard, Within Temptation, Nightwish, and some jap-rock. I want the headphone to have a good performance on vocals, especially the female vocals. I don't want the human vocals to be too far away or too thin. The bass is not the shortboard. The high pitch should not be too bright. Or I think I should use high here not high pitch. My English is very poor. 😢😢😢 I use Grado RS2e now. Grado is good for male vocals, but not exquisite enough for asian females. I had a chance to listen to Stax 007 almost 10 years ago. I will never forget that delicate and ethereal voice. I am interested in getting a pair of affordable electrostatic headphones and a DIY amp. ES1a, Perun may be a good choice. Or Stax 007. I want to which headphone and amp combo would be good for bass and asian female vocal. I am not a native speaker. Hope these words make sense to you.
  9. Any noise which changes with the volume control points to a source issue as the volume control is at the front of the circuit. The noise is being amplified and attenuated with the volume control. Could also be a ground issue as that would tie into the volume control as well
  10. I'm afraid you should read the forum before posting anything else, so you catch the vibe. We're not much about headphones anymore, but when we talk about them, it's not to recommend things to newbies that ask silly things.
