  1. The Cheeseburger Basket at Sam's Deli Diner... Note the delish onion rings tossed in because of "basket" reference. My failure was to not ask for a hand dipped shake....cookies n cream of course. An endearing greasy spoon that's been around a very long time... HS

  2. @swt61 Here in the U.K. there is a series called ‘Grand Designs" where they have people doing self builds, one off designs that are self built over sometimes quite long periods of time. I am always amazed at the hours they are putting in to do it, working full time jobs and then going home and building until we’ll into the night. I think the longest one I have seen it took them 10 years from buying the plot of land to moving in. Some quite astonishing houses built . https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421099/episodes/?year=2021 there are episodes on YouTube, not sure if it is restricted geographically.

  3. I have a new grail: Berneron Mirage. It’s vaguely attainable, as a grail should be. Sort of like a Crash, but boozy instead of Dali-esque.

  6. I bought this Credor as a wedding gift for Heather (she won’t get it until July of next year, but I thought it was perfect, so I went ahead and got it). I’ve never handled a Credor before. The lettering looks like it was done by hand, which I believe is a hallmark of Credor watches. It’s very small, 21mm, and I hope there is enough room on the back to engrave the date on it. I don’t think I’ll be able to get initials, too. It’s supposed to be in mint condition; still has the sticker on the back. Coming from Japan, of course.

  7. Looks like the surviving episodes of Jazz Casual have been uploaded. Also an out-of-print DVD box set. "If Ken Burns' 10-disc 'Jazz' is a freshman lecture, this is a senior recital." EDIT: Some on streaming services and a good short read: https://jazzhistoryonline.com/ralph-j-gleason/
