  5. Several years back, I met a Head-Fi member from San Antonio, known as plaid platypus. I visited his home and was very impressed with his Genelec system. Today Genelec's pinnacle loud speaker is the 8381A. It's a 5 way adaptive point source monitor. At $32,000 per speaker, it's not cheap. But as a fan of the Genelec sound, I'd love to hear these speakers.

  10. Did this today today – in full dayligt. Replaced EML 20B-V4 with 2A3 tubes in a Megatron with solid state constant current sources. Changes are filament voltage and cathode resistors (from 640 ohm to 3600 ohm. Only light is from blue and red LEDs and some light from the tubes themself.

  19. Working on a shrunk CFA3 layout this week, here is what it looks like. Haven`t tested it yet. The dim is about 8.6 inches * 3 inches per channel. Not small enough, but I bet someone can make it better by SMDing.

  22. I forgot to take any pics, but today Al and I made smashburgers on the flattop, and they were phenomenal! I'm going to transport the griddle to work this Saturday (customer appreciation day), and I'll recreate the burgers for the crew. Customers will be eating hot dogs grilled by another employee on a Treager, but I thought the employees deserved a little better. The burger used was Costco's 4lb. Organic beef packages, and the 80% was just right. I'm going to follow suit with grilled mushrooms and grilled onions, exactly as Al did them, because his research was spot on! I'll have a choice of cheeses as we did today. Just absolutely delicious burgers, and an epic time with my besties! Followed up with a walk through Roy's Redwoods! Great day all around.
