There's something wrong in Colorado...
Genetic replied to n_maher's topic in Headphone Amplification
Critical mass could be as little as 1 guy. It depends mostly on the amount of $ the transaction is in the balance with SP. In such a case a single individual (and this time it should be a single independant Denver tech guy with the same mandate) who could do the trick. Cost? It depends, but I figure a few hundreds could be a reasonable target for a few hours of his time. But then again the more $ a group represent for CP the more effective the leverage would be. I'm pretty sure the formation of a group would represent also a bonus for SP since this would means a multi-solutions to multi-problems in one shot... The whole basis for my suggestion is that he knows that a lot a people are by now stepping full force on the break pedals. All the defensive positions on both side wont be resolved by regular legal means. Almost certainly only mediation from a third party will resolve this before all this goes much deeper in trouble. Here's my unsollicitated view as an outside jurist... I think we have long time ago explored all legal possibilities on paper. Interesting but leading in all kind of directions. My conclusion about these scenarios? Much more $ will be spent with no posivive outcome is a sure thing. Here's my suggestion: First, a small group of clients with "already done" projects should be organized with the objective of finding and hiring 2 representatives on location. These 2 persons should be a lawyer (or someone with a legal background) and a tech guy (with amp and tube expertise). Dont worry the tech guy will be the one with the most of the billing time. Second, contact the builder and inform him about a mediation that could be run like this: 1- SP must agree to let the independent tech guy to a basic quality control of the amps (you guys are much better than me about this kind of stuff so you can fill the blanks on how to do this part), 2- After this, and only after this, the attorney on the tech guy positive recommandation could pay the $ SP is waiting for at the express condition that he will take delivery of the stuff on behalf of the group and he will be the only person responsable for shipping arrangement under his authority. Will SP accept such an intrusive outside control? Good question.... Just an idea.... Amicalement from a temperature you guys down under could not possibly even imagine or endure... -

There's no ''sweeping generalizations'' that can stand about HF mod staff. Some are realy acting like gentlemen even if they are in a loosing position. When was the last time you saw crowds cheering for the umpire... Even with many bad calls I'm pretty sure the good ones are the norm. Unfortunately there's no way to eliminate the source of those bad calls since we wont find a way to determine with exactitude what constitute a bad call and prevent it from happening. That's simply life. Back on topic. I hope our Colorado builder will, in 2009, find a way to put an end to these threads and change his way of doing business before he become another LaRocco Audio.... No doubt that your English is far superior to mine but the article title was something like '' Three of the world's best headphones'' So I think that there is some merit to that trio. Amicalement PS I'm still having fun with my balanced Black Dragon GS-1000....

And to be fair to Dany (Genetic) I'm sure he doesn't like being pushed around by Mods (here I'm thinking of another one up north who found quite amusing to send me a legal magazine to my personal adress just for the sake of trying to let me kwow something like: hooooooo we know who you are and where you live.....) At that time (emphasis on a past period) this case was badly conducted. I had no part in it. I was just completely disgusted by the reaction of a mod trying to avoid the website involvement and redirecting all the blame on the members. Amicalement

Karkwa!!!!! Since I wrote what could be interpreted as a pretty negative review of my last concert (the PFM show) I'm happy to report that last saterday night was quite a different story. (OK I was a bit hard on the Italian guys but I was, from the start, a bit annoyed by the fact that their bassman ( a member of PFM since 1974 )could speak an excellent French and we ( a French crowd ) had to endure, again and again, their drummer all night long with his mediocre English. End of my linguistic editorial... ) The place was full packed and the group was closing a fantastic year with this last 2008 show. For those who dont know Karkwa they are by far the rock group of the hour up here in Qu

Dear Amazonian, Thanks for the reply but I was aiming at another target. Just finding out, for the sake of curiosity, if members would post their favorite local website ressource. Bonus even in my cold northern city they will shipp CDs across all borders. My mistake I was not precise enough from the start..... Amicalement

Following a discussion in another thread I was wondering if some of you were using the WEB to buy used CDs. One nice example from where I live: Musique du faubourg - Accueil I'm often too busy (read lazy) to go and spend time looking for CDs on location.... Amicalement PS Even GPH could find me a nice Michel Louvain's CD in there...
