If you have other Festool stuff, the ability to stack it all on top of the vac is nice.

MDF is cheaper, moves less, and is easier to work with. It is also more likely to come apart in a damp environment. I personally would probably do ply, but MDF is probably the right choice.

We had family down from a Covid hot spot in Mass, and one of the people visiting is a RN who regularly tests people. Since it was a nice day, out of an abundance of caution, we had outdoor picnic style Thanksgiving. That involved, among other things, Quiche (a type of pie), Yorkshire puddings stuffed with succotash (also a type of pie), stuffing cooked inside puff pastry (more pie), and apple galettes (a free form pie). To my wife's chagrin, the pumpkin was in the form of scones, so pumpkin pie will need to be made in the near future. For the record, stuffing cooked inside puff pastry is a winner.

I don't care what anyone says, I still use winamp on windows when I am not using roon. It still has the best interface for local music as far as I'm concerned.

Looks how I'd expect a first coat to look. You should let it dry, sand it, and do it again. That will knock down the raised grain and help fill in the pores to even the color. Then sand it again.

It looks like the earth wire is not connected to anything. Probably someone had a ground loop and disconnected it in an attempt to solve that. There's a pretty extensive thread on these at SBAF.

x2 on this. Once you are in the deep end of running and paying for AD, you might as well lean in and get the benefits of the system.

Is there a reason you don't want to use Samba? If all you need from AD is share and printer access, it should be pretty trivial.

I've switched to using lundahl power transformers. They cost a little more, but I got tired of noise, heat, and failure. And of arguing with transformer winders.

I saw them, probably on that tour. (At Bogart's in Cincinnati) They opened for mudhoney. Absolutely worst concert I have ever been to. On purpose, by them. They essentially played one deep plodding chord for a half hour. Excruciating. But also awesome.

I'm not sure if this is really good, or a little too gimmicky. But I've been enjoying it.
