Too funny! Those guys are nuts! I'm just hoping that I won't be asked to explain myself concerning the Bose comment. The guy who started that thread on FB prides himself in knowing everything, if you know I mean. He likes to argue just for the sake of it. I don't mind a good discussion if there's an information exchange, but he just always has to be right, so where do you start such a discussion with someone who is predisposed to "win" and yet knows nothing about what he's talking about? I'll just pretend I don't see his next response.

I had a wet dream once when I was in high school that had something to do with a Farrah Fawcett poster. I think she felt the connection as well, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, I'm rounding it up. 434.997 + 0.003 = 435

I hadn't thought of that particular case, which actually applies to a lot of people. My intent was for this to be a "feel good" thread, which is why I suggested adding in all years of marriage, whether those marriages turned out well (in the end) or not. I've been in several committed relationships, and was even engaged a couple of times, but never really in something that either one of us regarded as an all-out marriage. Ring and vows, or no ring and vows, there are many people who can quite honestly claim their years of commitment as marriage. So everyone should feel free to interpret the word "marriage" in any way they wish to.

I've always admired happily married couples, and enjoy reading their stories. Although I've never been married myself, I'd be interested in knowing how long many of you have been married. For better or for worse, I'd like to see how far we can get with a running total of years of marriage (past or present marriages). I'll start. 0 The next person can say 0 + 11 = 11. Then 11 + 3 = 14, and so on. Any stories you wish to share about how well (or not so well) your marriage decisions have worked out are welcome as well. Just thought it would be fun to celebrate the joys of matrimony en masse.

Looks like Stingray City here in Grand Cayman. Almost for sure because I can see where the water breaks at the reef on the horizon which is proportionate to where it should be. Also, they're standing in waist high water which is right as well.

Hey, thanks for all of the great birthday comments and pics! I've been disconnected from the interwebs for several days now. When I thought about what I really wanted to do to celebrate this milestone, I decided that I'd like nothing better than to fly home to surprise my mom, take her to lunch, and just hang out for a couple of days. So I've been in Illinois since Thursday, and it's been great fun, albeit quiet fun. I got to see two of my brothers and their families, and it just happened to be homecoming weekend for at my high school, so I caught a football game and bumped into several classmates. It wasn't our year for a reunion, but a handful of them were there, and none of them had a clue who I was through all of this hair! Somewhere I saw an image (Facebook probably) that said, "If you haven't grown up by age 50, you don't have to." I must be getting old because I can't find it now! That probably applies to you as well Al, so no worries!

I'm not sure about the other items that I'd pick, but for my sporting entertainment my top two choices would be: 27. (20 year-old Muhammad Ali, who incidentally was still Cassius Clay at that age), and 39. (Any person of my choice. I'd choose the guy who put this tripe together). They would have to fight each other 3 times a day while I enjoyed my footlong Subway sandwich. Let's see, two more selections to go...
