  1. Echo'd here, too. Sorry for your family's loss, Larry. And focus on the good memories & people, not the bad son.
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. Taking a break from Hi-Res.... Got A Girl - I Love You But I Must Drive Off This Cliff Now Scott Pilgrim's girlfriend sings to a slower hip-hop-like instrumentation plus some extras. Pretty interesting stuff. EDIT: the more I listen, the more I like. Vocals are not so special, more of whispery pop, but she uses the voice well. And the music behind her is pretty cool.
  4. Finally got mine. Listened yesterday at work with Phonon's, and brought in the Senn 600's today, listening now. Fairly impressed....this seems to have a leaner sound than the ifi iDSD I got while waiting for this, but not in any way to detract from overall experience. Adds some nice air compared to iDSD, but not sure which I prefer with things like vocals and piano. Listening to 24/192 Bill Evans Waltz For Debby, it's fairly sublime, nice way to start my day since I'm in earlier than most others. Will compare that to DSD of the same, as well as play some other DSD I have (ELP Brain Salad Surgery, Pink Floyd Wish You Were here, Propaganda Wishful Thinking, and Belafonte At Carnegie Hall). Happy for a minimal-meeting day!! Head down, music on, I might even get some work done..... BTW....I have the Geek 700, not the 450; no issue to drive the Senn's. Does run quite warm, almost hot. Wonder about long-term reliability with things in such a small package.
  5. This is America....fuck yeah!
  6. If they actually go ahead in court, is that like two black holes coming together? Should we be worried about the future of Earth? Maybe a new catch phrase could be something like: Who would Al defend?
  7. Interesting, I knew Angel's Envy wasn't fully their own, the old owner of the local store mentioned that; but I didn't realize they are a "variant" of MGP as well..... Still enjoy it, though now I'd be less likely to buy it at the price.
  8. Very Happy Birthday Antonio! Edit: 50! Happy half century, this is my year as well.....
  9. I think Justin got tired of not having on-site shills
  10. Holy crap some weird stuff going on! Good luck to all needing it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  11. La-Z-Boy has a (normally) decent in-home repair service, we've had a couple visits when we had a sleep sofa delivered and the delivery guys screwed some things up with the fabric. The techs who visited were good, and one made a valiant attempt at repair but had to have them ship a new one. The second one had to do some minor fabric work, and did it well. What REALLY surprises me is the fact that you had such structural problems Mike. They are a pricey company, but one usually gets what one pays for with them.
  12. Yay, Kickstarter.....still, i don't always blame the messenger, unless they were forewarned a lot re: fraud, and did nothing (sounds like it may have been on that video game linked in the article, though, so shame on them if they did nothing). Manny got back to me today, was actually quite nice. No excuses, just trying to do his job as best he can. My order wasn't shipped because of the case color (silver, i upgraded over the 450) not in stock, so he offered to send immediately a black one, which I accepted. So hopefully seeing it soon....and never dealing with them again, no matter how nice individuals are.

  15. Very cool, Nate. Congrat and many more! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. Just opened a ticket on the support page. Had a lot of questions and accusations, we'll see if they get answered (doubt it). A couple folks on the forums are pretty funny, ripping LH for their lack of service. One guy posted what i thought: they need to temp increase funding to their shipping department to get these out faster. I also mentioned someone ordering the Geek 2nd week in July and getting it the same week; so why haven't I and others got the ones we ordered last year! One guy in Australia asks why he was sent a tracking number for someone in CA..... What a clusterfuck. Not that I'm ordering anything else, but I really hope they get their act together for the other likely-to-be-delivered-late products....
  17. I liked him in many things, a little young for the Maverick series but saw a fair amount on repeats. Rockford files, SO many movies..... A couple of my favorites were the "Support Your Local...." movies (Sheriff, Gunfighter). He had a great way about him that could combine dramatic and comedic roles well. RIP.
  18. Made me think of the Lene Lovich song....
  19. Oy....glad he is OK, now YOU get some rest!
  20. The Orb w/David Gilmour - Metallic Spheres
  21. Oh, man, too early.....RIP, bluesman......
  22. I use an APC H-10 unit that helps regulate voltage, I get minor swings/variances in my main system room and it certainly helps. In our basement, which we 1/2 finished when we moved in, we have a newer 20-amp circuit, and I've had systems down there that need no conditioner and sound great plugged right into the wall. I've also used Shunyata (currently) and Audience (past) AC conditioners that subjectively seem to make a subtle but nice difference; but I got them used on great deals, would never buy them at new prices.
  23. This. Argentina had a very similar (even better) chance and the player bounced it too hard off his chest. Congrat to Germany. Maybe my wife should ask something extra from her boss (she works for SAP, HQ is Waldorf Germany)
  24. Went to our delayed-from-July-3rd town fireworks tonight. Boring, up until a very nice finale.
