Various selections from Die Antwoord albums. Ever since Stretch mentioned meeting them on an airplane, I've had them as one of my guilty pleasures.....

Headphone in–the-head localization effect solution
skullguise replied to ttfx's topic in Headphones
This is perfectly clear to me....we've been listening to the music in the wrong era! I bet if I time-traveled back to 1842, but brought my portable player and phones/IEM's with me, I would have an out of the head non-localized effect. -
Absolute best headphones for listening to metal music

Since neither Spritzer nor Grawk is from Boston, I'd say it isn't.....I'm from the Boston area, and have tried to be diplomatic. Again, it's about the social aspect of the forum, as alluded to above. If you come in and proclaim superiority without spending time to get to know folks here, and get to BE known, this is what happens. I still personally believe you'd have a lot to offer, but you're coming in a bit like the proverbial bull in a china shop. And your offensive replies tend to imply that your skin is not as thick as you say.... So stay or go, with all good wishes. But if you do stay, please think hard about how you come in and present yourself, no matter what your knowledge and experience.

I saw a headline that she was off life support, thought it was good news.... RIP to a true one of a kind

Craigslist too, Dusty. I see used office furniture dealers in my local one a fair amount. Was thinking of getting my son a nice desk and chair for his room.....(saw a gorgeous dark cherry desk, good size, nice drawer space, and good build quality, for under $200).

Nice, Larry, good to be able to replace cheaply enough....sounds like the family that needs good insurance

The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post
skullguise replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Off Topic
^^^ Used to love those, but this one was perhaps the funniest. Once, after a trip to Japan, I myself had stomach issues. I got these small chewy, bad-tasting pellets at the airport, they were magical! Never saw things like it here....it looked like small BB-sized pellets of black hash..... -
Craig, you seem quite intelligent. Sarcastic too (which I personally happen to like). But letting sarcasm drop to cynicism won't get you far. One of the things that the welcome PM should impart is the concept of how social this place is. It's not always about what someone knows technically, but what one can contribute to just make this a more interesting place. It happens to include cars, bikes, drinks, food, etc., and even audio. This isn't the type of place that - no matter how experienced and intelligent you are - you come in and expect to be treated like royalty (IE, your comment about people being nice to you and you imparting knowledge). As was stated, we have discourse and disagreements about many things, but it's something that's earned through participation and contribution. And as Spritzer said, it's not about post count. Continue the discussion on the SRM-313 if you will, but don't get so defensive - remember that thick skin you said you have - and enjoy the ride. I'm sure there's a lot you can contribute, but also can pick up as well. Something tells me it'd be nice to have you here over time. We're an odd bunch, but a really great odd bunch. My two cents.....

Oh, isn't that lovely..... Craig, please read your welcome PM. Then, maybe visit the DIY forums and see who adds a ton of value there. This is a very different forum, best to get used to it and its inhabitants. And just to be specific, he didn't make fun of you as a person, but instead commented on your post. But with responses like the above, that could change.

Happy Birthday!

That's indeed awesome, "much" better half indeed! Happy 60th! Me: listening to Tina Dico - Whispers Nice Danish singer-songwriter, pretty bare and intense with songs. Folk-pop with some country influence.

Birgir, for YOU, it's only $45K, not $50K....SUCH a deal!

Hmmmm, hasn't hit me yet.....but I don't fumble much with volume. Still, something to monitor. And not surprised to see the reactions to LH's lack of communication. I was in the same boat, order held up for a while because they only had one color for the 720. Never friggin' told me, never offered the black as an alternative until I wrote a rather scathing note/trouble ticket.....

RIP....good actor, very good director, and great human.

No pics, but made my first sous vide meal today, two salmon filets. Texture and temp came out real well, needed some better flavoring though (had some dill herb mix I tried). Pan fried the skin side for a tiny bit after removing from the bag.

Glad everyone here is OK, sorry to hear about your sister....hope the recovery is OK for her family and others.

I think they look quite nice for standard shaped speakers. That room looks familiar, too, I think I heard some YG Acoustics speakers there (driven by some likely-older Moon Audio gear) when Karen and I visited SF a few years ago.

Wow, sturdy plants they be..... Grahame, I'll reach out to a buddy of mine who's at Cloudera, will see if he might be able to get me one or two....
