  1. ^^^ Don't be sad Addition by subtraction!
  2. Yeah, it was pretty fucking amazing. I like all 3, but kd lang stole the biggest highlights with Helpless and Constant Craving. Different show, but very similar performances: The musicians were great, the banter between the self-proclaimed "Sister Wives" was lots of fun, and each performer got to show off a lot, with some great harmonies by 2 or all 3 at a time on many songs. Two encores, with the second starting off with Patti Smith's People Have The Power. A great great show, threatened early on by rain, but it cleared before they came on, and even had a nice rainbow as a prelude to their show. Great entertainment, well worth the see!
  3. Going to see these ladies tonight, looking very forward!
  4. I imagine adding anything in the chain would offset what good/fun you could do with tube-rolling. At worst, maybe some kind of line-level tube buffer, but those are probably worse-built in general than many tube amps.
  5. Indeed he did. I look back on things like Happy Days and wondered how the fuck I could ever watch it....but back then, as a kid, it was great stuff. RIP to a great entertainment creator.
  6. I'm with you on Cowboy Junkies. I am in major heart with The Caution Horses, not a bad song on it and my favorite of theirs. I remember them appearing on David Letterman at that time, and he introduced them naming their new album The Cautious Horses....
  7. I think Verizon USED to be worse, but some of the LTE coverage frequencies are more universal, and some unlocked phones will work on both Verizon and non-Verizon networks. I guess the best option is to confirm with the retailer. There is also a decent site that covers a lot, www.phonearena.com
  8. RIP Baton Rouge officers. Again, one person with enough hate, doing so much damage.... And RIP to Alan Vega, agree with Dan regarding the band Suicide.....
  9. RIP. It's so sad that one hateful person can make such a devastating difference in the world. Sometimes I think we'd be better off "living" in The Matrix.
  10. Yeezh x2, indeed hope it heals well Chris!
  11. RIP Joey....based on the comments after the announcement, sounds like he was quite a friend and inspiration.... RIP also to my cousin Barbara, my mother's first cousin, after about a year of various medical issues. Incredible, smart and loving woman, raised a beautiful family of 4 kids that I got to catch up with yesterday. Up until I graduated college, we used to spend every Thanksgiving at their home. I had only kept in touch with one of the children....
  12. Very nice Kerry! I'd love to catch one in the wild myself!
  13. So sad, so young.....sorry to hear.....

I wish this was recorded better, so cool that a youth orchestra backed her up. I love Mary's voice, so full of soul and emotion. Never got to see her live (she's touring now in my area, but we have plans all the possible days to see her). But I saw her back in 1994 with the band October Project. Their debut eponymous album is superb IMO.
  15. Agreed.....
  16. Yes, there are. And stop calling me Shirley.
  17. Lots of luck!

    Deals

Unfortunately, the jazz ones weren't on sale. I would love to try the Blue Note reissues.....
  19. Is Mike trying to hide his BDay? Not on the front page....I guess one can't escape. Happy Birthday!!
  20. For me, Fresh Fruit... will always be the crown of the DK album stable..... Listening now: Bat For Lashes - The Bride. So far, pretty good, though perhaps not quite as good as her last.
  21. Happy Birthday!!
  22. Happy Birthday Marshall. Hope it is/was a day filled with doubly-good celebrations!
  23. Bettman loves the US dollars coming in....he has a fear of Canadian Dollars, even though support would seemingly be very strong in Quebec.... I'd love Quebec to get a team again.....
  24. ^^^ Is that Brent's system?
  25. This is the Neely influence I think. He wants the toughness but still some talent. Management still wants to Bruins to be somewhat Blue Collar, because they've been pushed around a bit too much by others. Hoping there's no NMC for Backes, because if not in theory he could be exposed in expansion drafts after next year for LV, or in another 1-2 when another team potentially comes in. BTW, same with Anton Khudobin, though he's at cheaper money and a better stopgap. And many Bruins fan are basically OK with this deal for the short term, as it will still take time for the prospects to come up. A mix of folks would would have preferred Loui Erikkson stay at that same $6M, even if for 1 more year (and Loui's younger). But his injury history is tough....so I'm half and half on the overall deal. I like Backes, but going UFA means paying a lot, especially when a player has a good year and/or playoff run (and his playoff performance was great). Similar things can be said of a few of the UFA signings, like Milan Lucic and Andrew Ladd. 7 year deals @ $6M and $5.5M respecively, and expected to be somewhat albatross contracts at some point.... I wish the Bruins were allowed to FULLY re-tool to some extent, and not be JUST good enough to make or come close to playoffs but go nowhere..... Bah....I'm rambling. Just hope they can do SOMETHING better on Defense.
