Congratulations, Tom!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Been up for two hours now with a lovely toothache. With painkillers appear to be not doing much of anything, today should be a load of fun if I can't get back to sleep.

The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
After going through more photos today, I've changed my mind, the sluggishness of LR4 is annoying. At least my plug-ins are working, though it did take installing a trial version of Photoshop CS5.1 to make then work again.

^ IIRC, you can do this yourself as well if you opt to not have Apple put in a SSD.

And now what did you do TODAY?
My friggin' doctor has a flu so they had to reschedule my root canal consult, meaning that actual procedure will be pushed back as well. FFFFFFFUUUUUUU.

Great, it's working again! Thanks, Todd!

The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
^ I keep thinking about grabbing a copy of Photoshop myself since I can get a educator discount, but I'm not sure I'm up for learning how to use it at this time. I found a potential work-around for the plug-in issue so I'll see if that works once I'm done downloading the necessary items. Otherwise, I'll just got back to LR3 until Adobe resolves the issue.

The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
Got around to installing LR4 I had bought couple days ago when it was released. Unfortunately, it's less responsive than LR3, not annoyingly so, but just enough to be noticeable (FWIW, I'm using early 2011 15" MBP w/ 2.3 GHz i7 & 8GB of RAM). Oh, and now my plug-ins don't work. This is what happens when I don't wait to get a software until after a patch or two like I usually do.

And now what did you do TODAY?
I had to have one redone in the past as well - that really wasn't fun. At least the ulcer-like symptoms I had over the weekend seems to have gone away. It has not been good few days health-wise for me.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Went to see my dentist after developing horrible toothache over the weekend and much to my annoyance I need a root canal. Well, there goes whatever I had left on my dental coverage.

Colts release Peyton Manning...
This. It made no sense for Colts to pay the $28M roster bonus with no certainty of Manning ever playing again, let alone at his previous level, not to mention the cap space keeping him would have cost. As to why other major league sports don't outright cut/release players is due to the difference in contracts - MLB and NBA contracts are guaranteed (with few exceptions) while NFL contracts are not (aside from signing bonus and whatnot). Besides a roster space consideration, why would any MLB or NBA team cut/release a player when you have to keep on paying him anyways?

And now what did you do TODAY?
^ Somewhat, but we'll see if it lasts. Probably helps that I've only had my 3 meals and avoided snacking since I don't want to deal with the pain. In regards to the computer, reminds me of myself few years ago. I think between myself and my wife (then fiancé), we had 2 laptops and 3-4 desktops of varying functioning level sitting around in our apartment. Every now and then I miss building PCs and then remember I actually don't.

Congrats to Clair on the tenure! Feel better everyone. I work with kids and I concur with this sentiment.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Been suffering from peptic ulcer-like symptoms since I woke up on Saturday. I hate the fact it's making eating an aversive experience.

^ I wonder why they always show sample images with in camera NR enabled. Supposedly, the new sensor has 2-stop advantage over the one in 5D2.

The AF assist beam on 580EX II only covers up to 45 AF points. I'm assuming the new flagship flash's AF assist beam will cover all 61 AF points.

Fuck in snow
^ Sorry to hear that, Nate. I just got home to find my driveway had already been shoveled - it was a really nice surprise. Apparently, my wife managed to shovel while Libby happily played in the snow. Nothing beats on day like this not needing to shovel after work.

Fuck in snow
Had about 4-5" on my driveway that I just cleared. I would've waited if I could, but I still have to get to work. At least my wife has a snow day.
