Went out early to get some Christmas shopping done, including getting my wife an iPhone. We were glad we started early as while we were waiting to have her contacts transferred to her iPhone from her old cell phone, the line of folks waiting to get helped kept getting longer and longer.

Well, I hope it works out for you, Dinny. We need to provide yet more documents to the bank for our refinancing process. The annoying part is, I know that they have some of the documents requested since I had to send them in previously - it looks like the people/departments that are involved are not talking to each other enough. Unfortunately, it'll just be quicker and less pain if I just send them the said documents rather than have them find the ones I've sent previously.

Well, I'm glad to see it is actually working this time.

Also, on the Cannons I've had, I've noticed that auto settings tend to select shutter speed as reciprocal of focal length (in 35mm equivalent), which may not be fast enough shutter speed to negate camera shake/movement even with IS on S95.

If my memory serves me right, only lenses that come close to your 35mm f/2 in mirrorless systems natively are Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 24mm f/1.8 (not exactly a small lens) for NEX system and Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 pancake for m43 system. Now, if you can live with *just* 35mm f/2, there's Fuji X100, though apparently the menu system is atrocious and autofocus speed is horrendous (though IQ looks really good).

Speaking of P&S, has anyone played with a X10 yet?

Methinks your best bet is S95 at $290 over on Amazon (S100 is out but it still costs over $400 at the moment). If you must have an optical viewfinder, Canon G12 can be had for $380, though it's nowhere near as small as S95 (and it'll have more or less similar image quality since it uses identical sensors).
