  1. Sure, it's not for everyone. I discovered Junior Brown in '94. I immediately loved his retro country style and sense of humor. But his ability on the "guit-steel" is what completely sold me.
  2. I re-created my favorite scramble from Hummingbird Cafe. Swiss cheese, bacon, tomato, avocado, spinach and eggs of course. Left a little avocado for Maki, as she absolutely loves it.
  3. You either love them or hate them. I happen to love them. In a family of 6, just my Mom and I loved fried chicken livers. She made them for us maybe 4 times a year. I don't think I've had them in about 15 years. Today I decided that was too long. Cheers Mom. Fried chicken livers, mashed potatoes and country gravy. This takes me home!
  4. Hmmm. Will have to give a listen. I'm a huge AM fan!
  5. Absolutely the best show I've seen this year.
  6. Episode 3... Still conscious and thoroughly hooked. Will have to postpone Episode 4 until tomorrow evening.
  7. And after episode 2, it's quite good. If one can remain conscious at any rate.
  8. Oddly enough, after rewatching and not dozing off for more than have of episode 1, this makes much more sense. I'm changing my opinion to 'pretty good'.
  9. I watched the first episode. I hope it gets better quickly. However, I'll admit that I was tired when watching. It's distinctly possible that I dozed for a millisecond. Though Al will atest that I rarely do that.
  10. If I wasn't certain that I haven't been drunk since I was 16, I'd swear I was shit-faced in that second picture. I've come to terms with having a bald spot, but Foster Brooks has to go!
  11. Al and I are building a bathroom vanity, and a closet door for his Sister in law, and her wife. We've built many things for them in the past, including a full kitchen remodel. This vanity will be a modern, White Oak, 60" unit. Center mounted single sink, and three drawers on each side. If you've ever had to squeeze into a 14" opening to install drawer glides, you will have learned to measure and install them prior to assembling the cabinet. So that's just what we did today. Not too much head scratching, before figuring out the correct placements. Those are the interior dividers. The side pieces were done before these.
  12. A simple breakfast, however, one of the high school boys that works at the store on weekends brought me fresh eggs from his chickens. He wanted to bring something, because he really appreciates the food I bring on Saturdays. There really is a big difference in taste. These were layed yesterday. More than I can say for myself.
  13. Cut some big pieces of wood into smaller pieces of wood, which will then be made into bigger pieces of wood in the end. Been a while. Felt good
  14. Just picturing some poor mastectomyed and liposuctioned duck wondering what the hell is next... Foie gras?
  15. Have an amazing Birthday unshackled!
  16. Those wild yeast are hard to wrangle!
  17. Did you wear the chef's hat?
  18. And I was channeling Carol Channing.
  19. The griddlers in action again... They were absolutely delicious!
  20. Happy belated Birthday.
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. Had quite a shock today. My Sister in law sent me a pic of my Mom on the day of her death. This is a picture of her Christmas before last... This was her the day she died... Just 1 1/2 years later. I was shocked!

Several years back, I met a Head-Fi member from San Antonio, known as plaid platypus. I visited his home and was very impressed with his Genelec system. Today Genelec's pinnacle loud speaker is the 8381A. It's a 5 way adaptive point source monitor. At $32,000 per speaker, it's not cheap. But as a fan of the Genelec sound, I'd love to hear these speakers.
  24. Hot cock?
