  1. Out of curiousity I just looked it up, and I share a Birthday with the following... 1874 Thomas J. Watson, Sr. (President of IBM from 1924 to 1952) 1925 Hal Holbrook (actor) 1930 Ruth Rendell (author) 1941 Gene Pitney (singer) 1954 Rene Russo (actress) 1962 Lou Diamond Phillips (actor) 1963 Michael Jordan (basketball player) 1971 Denise Richards (actress) 1975 Wish Bone (rapper) 1981 Paris Hilton (actress, heiress) Not bad if you forget the last three names.
  2. Funny, you don't look as old as David Gilmour.

Too good to pass up. I hit that for two, though I don't have a specific use in mind.

Why? Does he tickle your balls for you?
  5. Those look great on your desk Mike! You've got a big desk, they overpowered mine. I think if I sat in that I'd never want to leave it.
  6. Happy Birthday!
  7. Well I haven't paid for any of it yet, but a new K1000 cable from a certain retired builder, and a K1000 cable installation from a certain K1000 cable install expert. Gotta love those joint ventures.

Absolutely sublime! AudiogoN ForSale: SOTA NOVA Not so much a deal, but it drives me crazy when people misquote their equipment. If that's Zebrawood, I'm Phyllis Diller! Funny thing is it's Cocobolo, which IMO is way more desirable.
  9. Damn! either you're quite tall, or she's quite short, or both. Good luck on the wheel. I'll cross my fingers for you.
  10. Did they own up to it?
  11. Well actually this project was yesterday and today. It's a custom bathroom vanity I built. Two reasons for the custom build... 1) The customers are a tall couple, so a taller cabinet was desired. 2) They have beadboard wainscoting in the bathroom, and wanted the cabinet to match. I was able to use some beadboard leftover from the wainscoting, and some wood I had hanging around in the shop. That's why it looks like the 'coat of many colors' ATM, but it will be painted a nice creamy White tomorrow, and it now qualifies as a Green build. The beadboard is just an overlay on top of cabinet grade voidless Baltic Birch plywood. And of coarse I dovetailed the drawers. Finished toekick to be installed tomorrow. This is fairly typical of some of the smaller projects that I do.

Someone please buy these and get them off of A-gon, so my panties can dry out! I keep looking at them and I try to build a case in my mind on why I should buy them. However I don't have the room, and that's too big of a hole in an already thin wallet. One of my favorite speakers though! AudiogoN ForSale: Thiel 3,7
  13. Happy Birthday Kate! Keep "Running Up That Hill".
  14. Soundlab Millenium M3, I believe.
  15. Here's hoping she makes a full and speedy recovery. Glad the surgery went well!
  16. It must have been this thread that prompted it, but I had the weirdest dream last night. For some unknown reason I happened to be in Scotland, and wandered uninvited to Duggeh's house (though I wouldn't have a clue how to find it). He decide it was high time to get me drunk, but for some reason he had to sneak out of the house. His Dad was hanging close by (and he happened to be a Yank), so Duggeh sent him off on some errand. Then he produced something he called sweetbread, which was in fact some kind of fermented fish. The object of the fish was to get a buzz started. Then we headed to the local pub, where Duggeh proceeded to thoroughly drink me under the table (the only part of the dream with a basis in reality, I'm sure). Oh and in the dream he had the goatee in his new avatar.
  17. And the stems are going to be a tangled mess down inside the vase!
  18. Uhm, That's kind of like asking Versace "How do you know that's a shirt". But... ... anyway!
  19. Damn I'm confused.
  20. Last time I got shitfaced and puked, I said never again. I was 16, so that was 32 years ago. Haven't been drunk since. Haven't felt I was missing anything, of coarse I didn't mention that I was paralyzed from alcohol poisoning that one time. That scared me into total sobriety.
  21. Uh, Just realized that might be taken as me stepping on Nate's toes. Didn't mean to do so, just have some gathering dust is all.
  22. I think you can get a general idea of what an amp is going to sound like from the design. There are a lot of factors at work however that come into play. For instance all Beta22 solid state amps don't sound exactly the same. Parts selections and layout factor into the final sound signature. Others can impart much more knowledge here than I however.
  23. And he seemed to make such sensible purchases prior to this. After all he bought one of my stands.
  24. I have a nice pair of TRS to XLR cables laying around. If memory serves they're about 8'-10'. If interested just PM me. I'm sure we could work out something.
  25. Happy Birthday!
