The Toucan swings 25.2 volts in high gain while in balanced mode. If you go to the Tampa Meet you can try it and decide for yourself if it works for you or not. Cheers.

Hirose to 4-Pin adapter cable to run balanced headphones out of the iBasso Toucan. I do not want to get excited but it has been driving the K1000 for the last one hour or so. I will take the combo to the Tampa Meet, for now I leave you with a couple of pictures. Cheers. Note, the volume pot goes from 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock and I listen with the K1000 anywhere from 10 o'clock to 1 o'clock depending on the song.

Nate, have you tried the comply tips? I am currently using them on a Westone 2 and on a TripleFi 10, very happy with the results. Good luck.

New eyes! Had too, the last draw was when I could not tin the end of the AKG K1000 pigtail. It sucks being old ... but the alternative sucks even more!

Took out the soldering iron and re-terminated an old AKG pigtail to use on an old receiver. I wish I had better eyesight to do better soldering. Of course my old eyes could use a replacement ...
