  1. Thaddy, a few months ago I loaned my HE5 w/ the EF5 to Carl S. to test. At the time I also loaned him a Graham Slee Solo SRGII, at the end he like me preferred the HE5 with the Solo SRGII. Talk to Carl and if you are interested I could send you the Solo SRGII for a week so you can hear it with your HE5LE. Cheers.
  2. You sir are correct! I sent David a PM with the error, being one of first unit put together I hope they have time to correct the error. That being said the sound out of the unit is pretty darn good.
  3. Not quite a purchase but David of HLLY loaned me their new SMK-III Digital Audio Decoder which just arrived today. Dinny, if you would like to listen to it let me know, I should be able to send it out in about a month. I will retail for about $300 and it includes a headphone out and both balanced and unbalance out. Initial impressions are very favorable, i.e. fun listen.
  4. I have listened to both the HE5 and HE5LE and IMO the HE5LE is smoother, more open, and engaging. It does more things right than the HE5, at least to my ears and with jazz. Have not listened to the HE6 nor the LCD2 so I can not comment on those. Good luck.
  5. About $783 USD, has anyone else ordered from them? Thanks.
  6. chuke, although the V3 is probably the "most correct" sounding it was to me boring as compared with the V2. However the sound is not for all since the V2 does color the sound a bit more, say tubey/euphoric. I call it fun and engaging, it gets my feet tapping. Good luck.
  7. chuke, which X-Can model and for how much? I am one of those who enjoys the X-Can sound specially after modifying it using the PinkFloyd kit.
  8. Brent, sorry for what you had to go through and I sure hope it does not happen again. Steve, sorry that Fred is gone. Hope you can cope well with the loss.
  9. Brent although it is not easy you can make through. I went through a divorce many years ago and although painful it is very survivable, good luck.
  10. Go Jackets! sorry but I could not stop myself.
  11. I sure feel bad for Mr. Fred! Hope he has a fast recovery.
  12. This is just to funny in a crazy kind of way. Good to see you here Thaddy.
  13. Congrats! Wishing you all lots of good health and joy!
  14. Thanks Carl, just wish it was my ... car!

  16. Birgir, the Lambda Pro I got from you sounds superb! Others that listen to it at the Fort Myers Meet thought the same. However I read a lot of posts that would make me think the Lambda Pro are not very good, what am I missing? Thanks.

Just tried the code and it is no longer working.
  18. A few cd's by Tony Bennet, Tierney Sutton, and Harry Connick, Jr.
  19. Are there any places (or coming up meets) you could go to try different headphones? The Senn HD600 or the HD580 are solid suggestions and easy to sell if not to your liking. I am one who really likes the Denon D2000 and D5000 sound but IMO they benefit from being modded using the guidelines posted by MarkL. Good luck.
  20. Naaman enjoy your time with your new daughter, and as stated earlier please post pictures. Vicky enjoy your time with the family, pics of all the food would be great!
