If you can spring it definetly go for a modded 3910 over 2900. The 3910 uses a slighty better transport and a better dac. Oh and its video quality is better too

I'll agree with that for the most part, they are well rounded phones with a pretty balanced sound. They really don't have enough bass IMO though. I prefer the warmer fuller sound of the 650s so I kept them instead of the 701s. Plus the 650s scale better in a balanced system.

Boodi, PATB is correct the G07 does not have balanced outputs it only has single-ended outputs via a pair of RCA's.

I'm happy to see the University is taking some serious action on this. Sounds like this kid needs whacked in the head, but getting booted from school and losing his visa should teach him a pretty good lesson. What he did was completely wrong and as you say could have led to some serious injuries. Hopefully he'll learn something from this.
