Yeah, that part is dead simple, but I don't like bridge mode, mainly because I don't like the damn Actiontec. But I also don't want to go through putting the AEBS in front of the Actiontec. But I guess it's working for plenty of other people, so it should be good enough for chumps like me. Anyone know any MAJOR downsides to bridge mode? One thing that confuses me is how DNS servers are handled.

My old Airport Extreme bit the dust last night (power supply). So I went to the Apple store to pick up the new version and be tempted by the Mini Retina. Unbelievably, I did not buy a Mini, but I did get the router. It's fast, the numbers below are WiFi: But it really is a PITA to get this thing to play perfectly nice with the Verizon FiOS router.

I know I will be lusting after the mini retina, but for right now I'm pretty happy with the iPad Air. Especially coming from the Gen 1 version. Yes, I'd like it to be smaller, but then I'd also want it to be BIGGER. And it's still not as fast as I think it should be.

I like some stuff. Other stuff, not so much.

Now that data mining has become so sophisticated, I would think there'd be a way to measure influence of a given poster on a forum. I know Klout purports to do this across social media, but it seems pretty rudimentary at best. I'd like to see something more sophisticated applied at the forum level. But whatever, I have beaten this horse to death and well beyond. Sorry for the tangential rant.

I like Jude and I'll always be thankful for Head-Fi. Without it, I would not have met many of the true friends I have made through this hobby. It's the sleazy vendors and aggressively stupid posters I can't stand.
