i'm on a roll... the kgsshv
Sounds easy enough. I'll put that on my todo list. I can just vary the base current with a resistor, right? no need for a CCS circuit or anything like that?

Funny, that's what happened to me when I bought the HE5. :s

Marc, which series of Dale resistors did you use? Was it RN60D?

looks like 507 has a little bass boost in comparison to the other lambdas. Also, is the polarity reversed on the 507?

I have a 450V@125mA transformer for SumR sitting in my drawer right now. Specs wise it should be able to provide enough unreg voltage for the 500V supply to work.

I have a giant, thick board of ply that I use as a shield when I test things. RE: the utsource c3675, I still want to have them tested under a curve tracer though, so if anybody would like to do that, I'll drop a couple in the mail for you.

bdent seems to have their shit together. Here's a comparison of the C3675 from bdent to utsource: top bdent, bottom utsource: You can see that the utsource devices are not as cleanly made as the bdent devices. In particular, bdent devices have a circle on the front when utsource device is a dot, and the edges of the bdent devices are much redder than the utsource devices. Both have voltage breakdown around 1110V. If these are fakes these are quite advanced fakes. If someone would like to test them under a curve tracer I'd gladly drop a few in the mail to you for free. album here.

Wow, got a part number for the mil-spec connector for this? This needs more than 15 wires per umbilical cord now, right? Also, does the new revision include a switch for bypassing the attenuator all together?

Objective2 (O2) amp
What I saw was that nwavguy published an article that suggested the specs published on amb's website was wrong. Ti did not appreciate the fact that the guy did not attempt to contact him to sort out the problem before posting the article, and since nwavguy's mini3 was a nonstandard build, he suggests there might have been something wrong with the build, causing the bad measurements. This turns into an argument, communication breaks down, and nwavguy goes on to smear Ti whenever he could. :s I see all of this as a loose loose situation, Ti's reputation gets damaged, people started fighting among each other about who's right and who's wrong. What could have been solved discretely instead overblown into a nasty situation. His articles really did more damage to the community than it helped. The O2 does seem that it meets its specs. But its designer could loose some of that sense of self-righteousness.

Happy double birthday all the way- Modifying Tube Socket Brackets
You'll have to ask kerry for the specifics, since he used them in his builds. But I'm guessing it's just picking the size of the head that will fit the mounting hole.- Modifying Tube Socket Brackets
I'd say give captive nuts a try first. This is for the T2, right? Are you soldering the pins directly to the pcb or air wiring it?- Happy Birthday Currawong
Happy Birthday!- Electrostatic Headphone Measurements
I've sent some sr-404 and sr-507 to Tyll yesterday. Didn't send the sr-lambda because the BHSE doesn't have a normal bias output. Would be nice if somebody sends in a pair of baby orpheus.- KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
I'll add the specs into the BOM once I verified that the 450VAC transformer is able to generate the bias voltage without the voltage doubler.- Holy Crap! The New Stax Omega Looks fierce! (Stax SR-009)
My god. This is not just winning. This is TRIWINNING.- Happy Birthday, morphsci!
