Saw Steven Wilson in Boston, absolutely amazing concert. Grace For Drowning translates really well to the live setting (concert had an art house-ish feel with the opening songs the band were playing behind a semi transparent curtain with videos from the Grace Blu-Ray playing, then the curtain was lifted and the videos continued on the rear screen. All in all the music synced up perfectly) and the entire band were rocking really hard. Photobucket is being dumb and I am tired so here are some wonky pics

The stock VPI screw on clamp My friend used to use the periphery ring clamp and it works very well. It's a bit nerve wracking putting it on and off with a few drinks in you though

I'd just the best mastering, even if it may be redbook. Like Dreadhead I don't place much stock in high res, the mastering will make a much bigger difference (compression, EQ, etc). There are a couple of ways to convert the DSD to PCM. One is using an older Oppo DVD player and another is the PS3 method. See how HDTracks does it: https://www.hdtracks...DSD_to_LPCM.pdf While I can appreciate that HDTracks are proactive about taking down upsampled lower res being sold as high res (at least from what I have read), I don't find them completely innocent in that they must have some suspicion when they offer these files for sale.

Dinny a lot of the HDTracks come from rips of a DVD-A or SACD. Warner Bros preferred high res format was DVD-A so it more than likely is the 24/48 upsampled.

The cart upgrade itch was nagging me for a while so I decided to buy one of these Blooms (low ouput) from Mehran. Will update on when I get it The price went up quite a bit from when this thread was started, but I prefer to buy carts brand new and I can't think of any others in the under $700 range I wanted to try more.
