I have noticed the same soundstage effect with Maggies (probably true for any speaker) when they are separated very far apart. It's an interesting sound, but IMO the soundstage isn't realistic. The Cardas speaker placement guide for planars still has the most accurate soundstage and imaging in my room. When the recording expands beyond the speakers it works even with the speakers closer together, but most rock isn't really mixed that way.

No updates by me in a while, but the vinyl has been flowing in by the pant load. The spare room and garage are over flowing with vinyl postal mailers. TBH vinyl has been way more fun than any gear that has come and gone. I thought I'd post about one of my personal holy grail quest items- a UK first pressing of Hendrix Electric Ladyland. A quiet playing copy is pretty hard to find and I know my friend has paid $1000 for his near mint copy. One bonus track that is a cover of a Queen song. And new artwork. "I’m happy to finally announce the re-issue of the first Nine Inch Nails record “Pretty Hate Machine,” releasing worldwide 11/22. UMe and Bicycle Music Group managed to locate the original mixes, so I went in the studio with Tom Baker and remastered it for a greatly improved sonic experience. In addition, Rob reinterpreted Gary Talpas’ original cover to make for a fresh new package. It’s been an interesting trip watching the fate of this record float from one set of hands to another (a long and depressing story) but it’s finally wound up in friendly territory, allowing us to polish it up a bit and present it to you now. TR" Also this is second hand knowledge- the same people that put together the Ghosts I-IV packages are doing the 10th anniversary of The Fragile which is supposed to be out this year as well. Just plain Optix, I am guessing it is similar to the Aqua. They are the most breathable lens I've tried. I usually buy a years supply at a time so they are probably a discontinued name/model. I had Bio**** something or another that were meant to be worn continuously for 2 weeks. They were not great.

I went through 4 or 5 brands and in the end settled on Ciba Vision Optix (2 week disposable). Been happy with them for a few years.
