  1. SNL was the first I'd heard them, and I was really unimpressed. It sounded like ska. To their credit, they were fresh faced young men.
  2. Sky Blue Sky sounds great since Wilco records on analog equipment. Methinks I spy an MFSL DSOTM, which will be cool. I own that same Belew record, its bizarre and fun. I have the 45RPM In Rainbows which sounds ridiculous, but I can't speak for the 33 1/3. I'd like your impressions on The Reminder, I've considered snagging the LP off eBay.
  3. Right on. Really what I want is a super duper cushy office chair with adustable height. My current office chair doesn't offer enough padding on my butt for long term listening. Might be time to swing by OfficeMax and straight chill in the chair section for a bit.
  4. Are these chairs really super comfy? Sit4Less advertises constantly on NPR, and they are always pimping the Herman Miller Aeron chair.
  5. I bought Rain-X blades a couple months ago, they are great. I finally got in my Bugle after a PO Box mixup. Looking forward to using it tonight.
  6. Don't forget the Nitty Gritty Record Doctor III, an Audio Advisor exclusive. $140 more then the KAB, but you don't have to hook up your own vacuum. I use the Record Doctor III with Disc Doctor brushes and Quik Wash fluid with great results, though it worked well with the included brush and Nitty Gritty fluid as well.

  8. the ue9 is one of the most comfortable headphones I've owned.
  9. Absolutely! I'm just saying my standards for fidelity and resolution are much lower when it comes to home theatre. cheap n loud 5.1 works for me.
  10. happy birthday xand1x!
  11. might as well have Nelly himself up in here.
  12. Ditto. I need the visceral impact only a subwoofer can give when it comes to movies. What I look for in music and movies when it comes to sound is totally different.
  13. GE, you are the one that got me interested in this whole thing when you linked that altec peerless SUT a few weeks back. thanks for chiming in!
  14. I checked that one out from the library twice, then bought an ex-library copy on abebooks. Still haven't read it.
  15. nooooooooooooo
  16. dunno.
  17. They're supposed to be a good cheaper alternative to Altec-Peerless.
  18. good question. because cinemags are spoken of so highly when used in conjunction with the dl-103?
  19. Also it looks like capnbob's has an additional switch: ground/lift. I have no idea what this does.
  20. So the next step for me after I run the Bugle for a while will be to try a SUT with an MM tube phono stage. Of course I'm already looking for an appropriate SUT, and it appears that the Cinemag transformers are within my price range, and supposedly they have a synergy with the DL-103 line of carts. There are two builders I've come across. anumber1 on agon and capnbob on eBay. I have read that anumber1 is a popular guy on aa, but I've never spoken with him. Capnbob responded to a question I had quickly last night, and he regularly sells Altec and Cinemag SUTs which always go quickly. However, capnbob's price is $85 more then anumber1's. Also, anumber1's layout of ins on one side and outs on the other would work better for my setup. Is there any reason I should go with capnbob's above anumber1's? Bob's looks nicer, but if I get a SUT it will be tucked behind my turntable anyway, so looks aren't important. Thanks!

    Two from the Vault

yup yup. the newer release, "three from the vault", is another great one, great pigpen show. has an awesome "hurts me too", which is one of my favorite pigpen tunes. "one from the vault" is still my favorite of the series though. i just can't get enough of that band intro -> help on the way.
  22. hell yes. speaking of badass hbo shows, I need to get The Wire Season 4, especially now that the series is about to rap up.
