It's Duggeh's Birthday!
Ah but give in to what? A PSP Slim is tempting, so is an Asus EEE PC laptop although I'd need to raise a little more for that...

It's Duggeh's Birthday!
Thank you all very much. The Scottish git spent his weekend with some Scottish gin. Good times were had. When your birthday presents include a jar of pickled eggs and cupcakes with tablet on them, its good times. Got some birthday money from variosu family members. Together its enough for a set of Livewires. Oh temptation.

Anything by Leon Redbone, but particularly Sugar.

Heat and Amps
I can cook eggs on the Pass Labs. It probably gets to 20 above ambient. But Scotland is pretty cold too.

Film of Terry Pratchetts book "The Colour of Magic"
Rincewind has always been far younger than David Jason in my minds eye. Especially in the first books which are so many years before the later ones. Nigel Planer with ginger hair would have been a better choice, but he wouldn't have pulled in an extra 1.5 million viewers with his name stamped all over the place. Once they get around to Guards Guards/Men At Arms/Feet Of Clay/Jingo/The Fifth Elephant/Night Watch (but not Thud!). That'll be when the big fucking ace kicks off. Although maybe the Watch/Vimes novels don't lend themselves to TV adaptation as well as the more grandly magical ones. Small Gods, Pyramids and Moving Pictures would all be good in that regard, plus they're sort of standalonish. Who would play Vimes is the question? OH! WAIT! They'll get David Jason to do it, no worries.

Speakers are awesome.
Once you get speakers even half right, the headphones are already losing the battle. Not enough to give up headphones though, that'd be silly.

Most anticipated crappy games 2008
Two of my mates in Edinburgh have been working for Rockstar on GTA4. One of them as a test gamer. Their reports are very good sounding indeed.

Critical Comparison Between Two Albums
Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music For Airports and David Bedford - Great Equatorial. If you can write a paper about those two, you deserve some sort of international prize. (Duggeh is, because it was mentioned next to Zoolook, a kingly kingly album, downloading Michael McNabb - Computer Music)

[gear] Spotted on eBay.
Yeah that's the price you pay for rarity I guess. They'll almost certainly sound very treble intensive and lack a lot of bass.

[gear] Spotted on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310027657004&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123 NOS Boxed ESS Mark 1 AMT headphones. Just in case anyone might be interested. It's already beyond my budget and WertherDVX will not I suspect be going after it.

Eee PC
I got to finally have a shot with one at the Ginsoc meeting last week, its a really lovely piece of kit and I was amazed at how well I was able to type despite having fingers like sausages. Ultimately though it wouldn't serve enough of a useful functional purpose over the top of the toy-things I'd do with one. So I'll stick with my pen and paper and spend the monies on a pair of Livewires.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
I'd forgotten I was scuba diving that young. I qualified at 12, advanced level at 13 or 14. I havent been in the water in ages now though. I also invented Doug-Fu, which at the time was cooler than Judo.
- Happy Birthday Nate!

But I use it as an aftershave too!

Would anyone here want to climb Everest?
I've been trying to get healthy and lose weight too. I'm managing the latter, but it doesn't give me any motivation to climb any mountain. I'd give skydiving a go though. Falling down is easier than climbing up.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
I'll still look in my twenties when I'm in my 40s. It's a preservative pickling effect caused by the gin.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
There has to be someone here younger than me. Head-fi is lousy with teenagers. Some must have found their way here.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
I'm trying to think of what my hobby was when I was 13. That'd have been 1998, so I'm guessing playing my N64.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
I wonder if we will ever see the return of a grown up Jagwire to the headphone internets...

Would anyone here want to climb Everest?
No. I find it a strenuous trek going to the fridge and back. I get a stitch when I stir my tea. Everest would be like my Everest.

PX100 vs PX200, Faulty Headphones vs Authentic
I think that hes carrying over his mindset from whatever forums he normally posts on. Possibly in those forums he is someone that other members give the slightest rats ass about. But given the upfront idiocy of his situation I doubt thats likely. jonas I have first hand experience with fake PX100s and know the differences between real and fake ones in sound and construction. If you stop being a wab and realise that you have been one I'll then share that info.

electrostatic sound
Oh I couldn't possibly start on the Omega clone until I've finished the Phonodome.

I've never seen McGuyver. I'm sure if I had there are a series of SG-1 jokes that would make more sense.
