  6. Interesting piece of history - how they transported the A-12 to Area 51. (the A-12 aircraft was the precursor to the SR-71 Blackbird) http://www.roadrunnersinternationale.com/transporting_the_a-12.html
  7. Every time I heard a "bzzt" or a "snap" on my HV, it was one or more transistors meeting it's maker. This was during initial testing, it was my fault slipping with the DMM test probes. So you say originally the neg rail had nothing, then it was fluctuating around 450V?
  8. Yup. He is the king of stat-phone DIY. You'll be spending days "slogging" through all of the posts. Enjoy!
  9. Mmmmmm! Digital transformers. I like mine with strawberry syrup on top.
  10. Happy B-day!
  11. Kewl! We got one in our backyard that yields four or five pounds of fruit each year. Just love bringing in a handful of fresh picked guavas and leaving them on the kitchen countertop. The aroma is fantastic!
  12. For the old style boards I used a Par-Metal 16"D X 16"W X 4"H box. Greybox has similar width and depth dimensions listed. The 2U height they list will be cutting it close unless you use small heatsinks. (not recommended) The 3U high box would work fine. The new style boards will be substantially smaller, a smaller enclosure could be used. They are still a work in progress and have not been finalized. Pic of my KGSSHV layout below. (1st board run)
  13. Mine too!
  14. For perspective, there's a guy on a motorcycle near the center of the rim.
  15. What's for dinner? Cafe latte & chicken tinga with fried rice.
  16. Dang your kid looks sick! Hope the antibiotics do the job quickly.
  17. Earlier this evening, zombies. Lots of zombies.
  18. Congratz! Another HV sees the light of day. or is it the light of night? Impressions? What cans do ya got?
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. Get well HA.
  21. Cut down thirty feet of six foot tall hedge-line and inserted the remains into ten trash cans. Then helped my neighbor build a new eighty foot long fence on our property line. Ugh! I'm worn out, reminded me of how much I despise yard work.
  22. So that's what them funky rectangle thingies straddling the a1468s are. What is the SMD a1468 equivalent's part number at Mouser? BOM on the way?
  23. The Fuke Model 62 "mini" is $85 on Amazon. The Model 62 "max" with more buttons to figure out is ~$130. Home Depot sells a similar pistol style IRT with laser pointer for around $50. Online, they have a whole bunch of them, starting at around $30. Harbor Freight has them for about $25 when on sale, normally $36.
  24. Renesas, love fresh sand. Hope they test good!
