^ is it coincidence? /ˈɔdiəˌfaɪl/ look carefully. helps to be dyslexic.

Yea the real complaint though is not the way he is leaning sound/design wise, but that he may discontinue the socketed models in favor for that one toob like opamp and teh shortest traces zomg in order to satisfy those who are a bit more susceptible to the mystical.

There is a 5 or 6? I bought a used miniIV with ad8397s and love it. The battery is just about long enough ~8 hours and the sound is top notch. It is also so small that it doesn't fell like having an amp at all. Had loads of juice to drive full sized cans especially with the 5.5volt boost switch on. The extra features work well enough that I don't consider them "extra" but actual valid features, for example the bass boost adds very little distortion (almost as well as the sharp md players in this respect). The crossfeed is nice to have (though still more like the meier/hr in performance, unlike the minibox-E's circuit which sounds more like a dsp solution), and the p->s impedance switch and gain switch are essentials. All this shebang for 150 used is quite a bargain. I wouldn't buy new or send anything in for "upgrades" though, as lately the xin line has caved in to the "knowledge" (personal preferences) of quite a few annoying people so the sound has been floating more and more towards the supermicro in signature, for example the latest supermini IV 4/12 updates as well as the xin Reference amp. The micro isn't the best in sq, but since the "popular" guys on that other place praise it as a godsend, xin now focuses on the "warm fet" or whatever sound those few "influential" people like because the ignorant masses there are mere flocks agreeing with the popularly influential and most likely highly dumb few.

No. The red background TOTALLY accentuates the look of surprise. -

Which is because? I can think of a few prominent manufacturers that do exactly that. Using the wrong part is pretty hard to do unless they are retarded and/or have issues with reading. If you are referring to builders who try out some ELITE AUDIOPHILE CAPS FROM 1910 nobody's ever heard of either on their own accord or on the buyer's in the pursuit of an extra oz of musicality then I would call both parties slightly stupid. The buyer, for not choosing an appropriate builder, and the builder, for experimenting on a customer's order instead of their own crap. quite obviously IF you could, then the community would of course benefit from your classy cases and discerning choice of quality components. No harsh feelings tho because (>`-`)> is back to (>'-')> mode. It's just that I've been always jealous of how you include lol in every post and I haven't done so but now feel like I really should. you also caught me in a bad season <.< -

The only diy projects that don't have cases or have "esoteric(read:bootleg)" ones are usually mine but I am a fake noob diy wannabe so please do not lump me together with the general diy populace who usually do a fine job. Example one two three four five six etc... Do you even look at what the "internals" are inside most "high-end" electronics? I have never seen anything "match" because there are no such thing as pcb or point to point cases... example of a HIGH END ZOMG VALUE FTW amp: Krell baby! Again, you can choose a METAL case that can be personalized and made to look good with engravings or colors/paint or added on structures etc... Where did you get the idea that diy = plastic case or hammond + shoddy drilling? PROVEN DESIGNS LIKE TEH HORNET RIGHT? THEY IMPROVED IT WITH A DAC!!! AND IT STILL HAS SPACE FOR THE GIANT CAP! as an aspiring diyer these comments just tick off this midol-deprived-hungry-as-hell kirby. Meet ticked-face: (>`-`)> -

That's what I thought too, until I heard this version.

They glare when I'm in a bad mood. They are sort of my fav cans ever which is why I went through three of them

I'm listening to posty's dark wood rs1's with no serial number. They sound so good. I think the k501 and er4's were Grado's minions sent beforehand to shape up my ears and get me used to glaring treble, then the big daddy vinty-rs1 comes in and finishes me off. Once hater, now worshiper. Thanks jack

screw dial 'o bass slap in opa637s for the phat beatz and have gain at 11 and your 340s may even tremble a bit.

nah we're just retarded. I say have someone build you a balanced wall powered mini3. It wont be under 300 though, but probably not that much over it unless you want audiophile volume controls and square rcas. and a case. -
