  1. Bloomberg shouldn’t have copy-striked him, but Steve doesn’t know shit about the law. That video was painful even if he was in the right. Michael Moore style “show up in the lobby and demand answers” journalism is so cringe. It probably was just an automated strike. Don’t attribute to malice….
  2. Biking is fun as hell. I think I need one. You just don’t get this speed on foot. I still love walking and hiking but this feels like a different beast.
  3. It was so hot out yesterday that I started running top up to keep my helmet from getting cooked by the sun. Not my greatest performance. I blame heat-soaked brain. Someone driving the big track even started a grass fire when their car threw off some sparks!
  4. I’ve had fun riding around on the local bike share bikes. Tailbone is getting used to being back on a bike seat. I love walking and hiking but the sense of speed you get on a bike is kind of intoxicating. Next step for me will be to do some weekend rentals of demo bikes from the local bike store. I’m going to try an e-bike and a gravel bike and see what takes.
  5. Done as well. Go get ‘em, Nate!
  6. Thank you, Alien Earth, for reminding me to listen to this again.
  7. Alien Earth. Ok, wow! VERY strong start. Let’s see if they can keep this up! I’m very much enjoying this.
  8. @spritzer great post! We need that picture of you wearing them!
  9. Bike newbie here. I’m going to go pick up a helmet this weekend. Is there anything I should know/look out for? I mostly plan on riding on the road and maybe light trails. Bike will come later. I want to use the bike share in town for a bit to make sure I’m committed before opening the wallet for something nice.
  10. Untamed (Netflix). I enjoyed it. Short, to the point, didn’t overstay its welcome. I’m honestly a little surprised the critical consensus on this one wasn’t more positive.
  11. Quite an earworm, this one. Also well done with the protest, lads. "Midnight Oil again brought the politics of Reconciliation to the fore during their performance at the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. Then Prime Minister John Howard had triggered controversy that year with his refusal to embrace symbolic reconciliation and apologise to Indigenous Australians and members of the Stolen Generations. But he had also said their reconciliation-themed single "Beds Are Burning" was his favourite Midnight Oil song. Midnight Oil performed the song at the ceremony with the word SORRY conspicuously printed on their clothes as a form of apology to Indigenous people for their suffering under white settlement and to highlight the issue to Howard, who was in the audience at the Olympic stadium as an estimated one billion people watched on television. Midnight Oil had consulted with tour mates Yothu Yindi and other Indigenous activists, so that their performance would bring popular protest to the world arena." -Wikipedia
  12. This Lando v. Oscar battle is making what would ordinarily be a boring season of dominance by a single team quite entertaining! The later and later we get with these two separated by less than a single race worth of points keeps the tension high. Helps that their personalities are also so different from one another.

Love seeing Odd Lots, one of my favorite podcasts, get a writeup from NYT. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/03/business/odd-lots-podcast-bloomberg.html?unlocked_article_code=1.bU8.vRJd.bckYB2Fm0bIg&smid=url-share
  14. Vettes are great value, no doubt. I hope you get out to Autobahn and Road America and give your new beast a proper thrashing once it comes. A shame to only street drive such a machine. I'm sure the GM engineers are amazing drivers, but there is a different level of speed from people who get paid to drive.
  15. I'll be honest... I am pretty disappointed with these times, quick as they are. If anything that reiterate why you'd buy a 911 GT3 over a 'vette. I think it was a mistake to not use professional race car drivers. For comparison, here is Jorg in the refreshed GT3.
  16. Happy birthday, Todd!
  17. ECP audio/Nitsch and our own @dsavitsk is your man. His stuff has been bullet-proof for me and sounds so good I haven’t been remotely tempted to upgrade since.
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. Amazing. Congrats to the happy couple and thank you, dad!
  20. 🤘 May he entertain the dark lord as much as he has entertained us. Time to dust off the old Sabbath albums for a listen. To @robm321‘s point that intro to the song Diary of a Madman is among my favorites in all of rock.
  21. Finished 11th out of 44 drivers at my last autocross. Goal was top 15 so I’m happy. Turns out putting better tires on the car makes a big difference. Who could have guessed? You can brake harder, carry more speed, and get back on power earlier. These aren’t even that fast of a tire too!
  22. Horrible story indeed. Glad the perp will at least face trial.
  23. Red Bull! Is you mad!? https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/our-verdict-christian-horner-red-bull-f1-exit-shock/
  24. Not going to go see them on tour but that doesn't mean I can't dust off the old records and jam out.
  25. Not Leno. Leno hates Ferrari. Pretty epic stable whoever it is.
