GORGEOUS, Ric! Big congrats! Mom's surgery went well. i am greatly relieved. Work kicked my butt this week on top of everything, but even that went well, though I still have some loose ends to take care of before the long weekend begins. I can't decide if I should be sad or happy that all I want right now is a clean house and sleep.

Just catching up with this thread after a couple weeks. My sincere condolences to Chris and Mike and your families. As some of you know I lost my dad three weeks ago, and today was a quiet, very un-christmassy day, though family got together, ate, did the gift thing, went to church, told stories and laughed. His absence is pretty present. It didn't help that I spent yesterday in the hospital with my mom, who had been admitted the night before, and no one told me. They let her out today, but her heart isn't working right. She spent most of the day sleeping, and I spent it watching her, feeling really helpless. On a brighter note, those are wonderful pictures, Wayne! And although I'm sorry for your palsy, Mike, I think we need some pics of the pirate patch. I think you'd look quite good in one. I hope all here had a safe and happy holiday.

^ Sounds like a great day! Congrats, Antonino on the 009 arrival! Enjoy! I went to work today, but it was a pleasant, patient-free day. Also went to the doc to get the results of my allergy tests, which was less pleasant, but oh well. I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend.

Had a very tasty dinner and enjoyable time with Carl and Bonnie and two of their friends. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Shelly, hope things are getting better for you. Today, I waited an hour an a half in my dermatologist's office to have a five minute appointment resulting in my back being covered in sticky rows of tape meant to test for 64 allergies, not including food or pollens, and one big ole bandaid on my ear, after testing for skin cancer. I go back Friday to find out what I'm maybe allergic to, but the tape seems to be somewhat sticky on both sides and is now stuck to my shirt as well. This should be an interesting couple days.

Glad the surgery went well, Shelly. You'll be a crutch pro in no time. Jacob, big congrats to you!!! As for me, last night, we had our annual Gratitude Dinner with staff, patients, alum and their families. There were over 500 people there, and it was really fun. It was also perfect timing as I've been on burnout, mostly going through the motions, waiting for my vacation in two weeks. Seeing a lot former patients doing well, and remembering what they were like back in the day, made me think my current crew isn't really as bad as I've been thinking they are, and the whole event gave me a dose of motivation that should get me through 'til I can really rest up.
