I dunno if H-C has already covered it, but last month Wadia announced the 170iTransport. This is the first high falutin' iPod dock that has remotely interested me. $380 isn't cheap, but it's chump change compared the Krell's unfortunately-named Baby-Dock/Papa-Dock set. Backwards compatibility with older 'Pods isn't great, but S-Video/component video out, and S/PDIF coax out is saweet.

The joke's long over, but what started out as goofiness became an extended lesson in Photoshopping. I spent longer on that this than I care to admit, but I now have a much better understanding of masking, layers, cloning and other cute PS tricks. The composite is far from perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with the results. Also, it's always a good idea to remove Ben Stiller when possible. I had changed it to say "robot" instead of "retard" but that got lost in one of my re-edits. I used much better source material for this one, particularly the Voltron. Seriously, check out the original, it's bad-ass.

How well does USB2.0 handle 24bit/192KHz stereo audio? I wish more high end DACs/converted used FireWire. How much is a FW400 port going to add to the cost a $2500 DAC? Yes, I know, spoken like a true Mac twit. A Macbook-Jan2008-equipped twit, at that. Doesn't change the fact that FW is a more robust spec, with better sustained throughput.

According to this comment from this thread, it's the firmware that can't support DVD-A. In my experience Endgadget users are morons, but if it's a firmware issue it can presumably be corrected.
