I wont vote but (haven't heard any of the amps) but this thread is proving reasuring reading as I ordered a balanced Beta22 a couple of months ago -
nice time of year for it you'll see the sunrise and sunset that way

around 30 hours non-stop but a recurring effect of when I relapse is disrupted sleep patterns. On that basis for the last 5 years I have mostly been in a sleep deprived state. Try staying awake once (to sate curiosity) but best not to make a habit of it. The clumsiness, lack of memory and misinterpretation of stimuli involved can make a person quite accident prone. p.s. this put me in mind of the channel4 reality show "Shattered", it was aired in the UK in 2004 and was a contest where the subjects (who were shut in a simplified big brother house) were to remain awake for a week with the the ones that made it being put into a sleep-off to decide the winner of the

Hi James, welcome to Head-case It's the first time I've seen such a colour scheme (not a favourite). The DJ's myspace page is http://www.myspace.com/danoh , the picture appears to be from a "DIM MAK Tuesdays'" event at CineSpace. Try contacting the DJ directly and see if he'll tell you

Thankyou, I hadn't heard of rectifiers before (a wiki search later) it makes enough sense for me now

Why do you have 2 four pin powerconnectors at the back ? what are you using to reinforce the chassis ? Do such physically large caps take very long to burn-in / stabilise ? Once it's done I'd be interested to know what it weighs I'm looking forward to the schematics for this I can't quite understand the role the tubes are going to play. Transformer takes in mains voltage and through inductance generates other voltages/ampages, the chokes I can understand clean up the dc and I'm guessing the capacitors play a role in that as well. What is it the tubes do ? :scratchinghead:

He looks quite amiable now, and seems a familiar face

It looks good + very heavy. This thread is tickling my grey matter to learn more Nate, thankyou for sharing this p.s. the blue grommets look excellent

The "best song ever" is bad, uplifting opening but with the instruments crossing over each other mid phrase and the rest being too sugary sweet. It's not a favourite. The start of the "most unwanted" reminds me of "paint your wagon" , this track is eclectic but much more listenable and interesting/entertaining. I like the occasional bagpipes (could do with some more ) p.s. their sample size must have been rather small, a varaition of

Thrice is selling some, one at $250, the other at $300 in his "Prebuilt / One-offs" section http://www.rockhopperaudio.com/

I make that around 374 tons of gold. 315,000,000,000.00 USD = 350,732,594.911 XAU (ounces of gold) 34480200 cubic inches 217846332 cubic centimetres, 217.85 cubic metres so a 6.017 metre cubed block of gold (give or take )

I like the translation of that "The bones of Uzziah, King of Judah, rest here ... Do not open!" the ... is a nice touch

shock affects the driver as well as the victim, that said sticking around to really help the person knocked down is certainly the right step to take. When I was knocked down it was 30 minutes before shock faded and much longer before I realised I needed profesional help. Cars are potentially deadly, more people should realise that and not drive when distracted. Best wishes Reks, I hope you heal with minimal pain, take it easy

I don't get told I'm "wonderful" enough thankyou for the compliment

Thanks, I'm mostly interested in the design and application of physical principles within audio electronics applications, understanding the terminology is a bonus. I'm happy to leave the rest up to my ears
