  1. randomass cans...
  2. I wish someone came out with a good PCM1704 design.
  3. I just want to see what kid of charge circuit the Predator has.
  4. 6-700 is about the going rate. I usually see them about 700-750.
  5. Honestly, you could get the pico, but I'd get an Opus DAC.
  6. I'd say it depending on how the amp/tubes are biased. On my amp, on the higher voltage setting the GTs are way too fat and think for my liking but the GTAs are fine. On the lower setting the GTs sound better.
  7. Probably, but I'm willing to bet in order to make it viable, they'd need to price it in BHSE/ES-1 territory, pricewise.
  8. I'm one of the ones who thinks that the Lavry is fairly flat and boring sounding. People will probably disagree with me but in my mind, neutral isn't boring. While the Lavry is probably one of the better retail options, overall it just seems fiarly underwhelming.
  9. When I had RS-1s, I found they were too bright for my liking so I sold them
  10. It's a hobby. There are many wierd things that are not understood in a hobby.
  11. Indeed. As I see it, it's like any other manfacturuer who updates their product line. Nothing forces you to buy the new/updated one.
  12. ok Mr. Mangina.
  13. Given that the 840c has a transport in addition to the digital in options, which are all but unheard of at it's price point, if space isn't an issue, then I'd go for the 840 over the Lavry in a heartbeat.
  14. I still don't know what started it all...
  15. While i don't know the details of this particular transaction, my policy is, unless stated and agreed to beforehand, when you pay it's 100% of the balance. I am also a person who has been strung along by potential buyers, so unless the person I'd be selling to is a friend, chances are, I won't wait and will just go to a person.
  16. Yay for sneaky tkam.
  17. I'm guessing kids so that he can put them to work making his cables
  18. I am also a bit baffled as well. The gain of your GTB is only 20 and while you could go with someithng like a 12au7 (gain of about 17) or a 6gu7 (another tube with a gain of about 17), I'm not sure that the difference of 3 would really matter in a huge respect.
  19. What tube do you use in your MPX3 ATM?
  20. If that's the case, that's understandable, but somewhat useless and misleading as there is a fairly sizable difference between that and the production model.
  21. While you may get better bang for your buck, depending on the mod company, I wouldn't necessarily say there there is inherently better service. Depending on what shell your player uses, getting it serviced can be a real pain, assuming there are places that can get or have parts and are willing to service it. So in my mind there are definite drawbacks to owning a modded player. And yes I own one and have heard others. For my next player that's one of the debates I'm having.
