My friend who works for Dow and has been taking apart cameras in her optics facilities said that Canons can be a gamble as the CCDs made in China aren't as good as the (I forget where) other one. And that their physical build isn't that durable (not a big problem if you don't drop it). Not sure if it's any indication, but my SD600 has developed a stuck red pixel after 3 years.

Huh, the power switch is still done opposite of what seems right. It definitely doesn't look fancy (and looks downright gritty) I think it could work. It's in a competetive price range, and if what could have gone into looks went into sound/quality, then it could be a very good option.

They don't isolate that well but don't leak (I listened on a subway train and my sister couldn't hear it). The sound is certainly very nice, and the comfort gets better over time. I can't leave them on for more than 2 hours before starting to feel some pain where my glasses are, but I've gotten used to that. They sit *on* your ears so your earlobes shouldn't affect it at all.

Was listening to Helen Grimaud's Emperor, but something wasn't quite right, so I'll toss on that Plant+Krauss album.

The guy on 2ch who tested both said the folding joints on the Nomadic (not Master Blaster (which sounds similar, he said)) were really fragile. Did you test the supraaural Nomadic at all? It's only $120 MSRP compared to the $200 Master Blaster.

Two came, they're in pretty terrible physical quality. Anyway, rip succeeded. Compared to the remasters, they sound more organic overall. The remasters are more clear on first listen, but then you hear the extra hardness on the guitars, piano, and even voice. I'd say the remaster, although not bad, suits the music less than the originals.

Just one guy, but he sounds reasonable enough. He says they probably wouldn't go well with Sennheiser fans for their energy, so you could take that as Grado style, or it might be Ultrasone territory. Who knows.

Some guy on 2ch on the Grado thread says the Nomadic sounds Gradoish, with clear midrange and snappy bass, or something. Anyone wanna dew eet?

Sextetts don't exactly travel nicely. Go portable, it's getting rather good these days.
