So, any verdict on these? Bonus this year might make me interested. Easy to replace the jacks/recable to make these work well? I liked the LCD-2s of Mike's that I had at home and listened to...

Having the transformer(s) that close to the audio boards/pot probably isn't helping your noise floor at all. AC wiring also appears to be right over the input wiring to the left side of the pic.

Is that shipped or do they want another $8-10 for that? I'd probably try the whining approach, you know, the fucking POS broke Of course they might come back with the ship it in (and pay shipping both ways ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did some work on mocking up the chassis and getting into a more listenable state. I will need to get aluminum top/bottom and rear panels for this (not using the steel ones that it came with). I'm also still a bit concerned with how warm the buffer transistors run, and this is open air. Using a modified amb e12 protector board (with muting). I tested this to see if HF oscillation would trip it, and it did (12V ~70MHz with the feedback set to the mid FB point). Listening-wise, it is likely my favorite amp, even being single-ended. This thing has balls, and seems to open up the recording more than any other amp I have built or used. Since my SE DynaHi boards are a drop-in, I may take another listen to those as well, but from memory, the FET version stomps it. I am going to build up a GRLV for this, and will likely get a 50 or 100VA Antek trafo for it instead of the 120 or 160VA SumR I have in here (a bit in the HC overdo it fashion ).

Interesting build! Nice to see someone do one single chassis also. Appears to be some beefy input wiring!

I'd see if emotiva would send you a couple of them. They are after all the ones who selected them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Engineer PA-05 with the crimper looks nice as well. The Ideal strippers that I have are plenty good but these look better. For the price they better be [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can't find it in here? http://bwgroupsupport.com/manuals/bw-service Not to encourage this, BTW. I would read the welcome if I were you.

Probably because the tall voice of reason intervened When he gets back to the states, we'll have to pummel him mercilessly...

Yes, very nice work, and love the color! Are those based on Kerry's mini board?

Thanks John and Soren, I wasn't going to do my own front panel machining nor the rear panel. I had drilled and tapped blind holes in the heatsinks for the L brackets some time ago. I seem to recall the aluminum being somewhat "gummy", but they turned out fine. This was a few years ago after the DynaFET GB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HiFi2000 question(s): For those who have used the pesante dissapante, any of you have experience with both the aluminum and steel rear and top and bottom panels? If so, which do you like the best? If aluminum, is it worth it to get them from hifi2000/modushop, or could FPE do them? If so, any drawings available for the panels? 2U 300mm case. Cam Expert: do they still accept FPE designer files, or do you have to supply cad files? I don't have any cad software on my Mac, and no experience with it. For Mac, any cad software recommendations? I do have Fusion360 but haven't used it. Not even sure what all it is capable of. The case I bought back in the group buy was with the steel panels, and I can't say I'm feelin' them It would be around $70 ordering them thru modushop or diyaudio store. I suppose if I went thru modushop, I could have them do the machining on them for the IEC, etc. Might be worthwhile to just get another 10mm faceplate from them and have them machine that as well, and re-anodize.

My condolences to you and your family, HS

Thanks for all the discussion! I'm getting ready to case the DynaFet up and am trying to determine how I want to switch the power. A 2 switch approach (one on the inlet, and a ring LED vandal type switch on the front) appeals to me. A plus would be not having to run line AC to the front. I'm using a 2U Pesante Dissipante 300mm (from the age old group buy), so have plenty of room. Voltage selection would be a plus, though not required. Are many of you still using SS relay to switch the AC? I'm looking at the Amb board, and I guess might need a 2nd xfrmr, turned on by the back panel switch, to then switch the main xfrmr AC?

Went back and looked at this again; a lot to like here! Neat power inlet... some kind of Schaffner inlet? EDIT: nope, Schurter (found it).

I assume these cases are from China? Any hint as to who/where they are from? Everytime I see one of your pics, I keep thinking I like those...

did a search on "printing 1st class labels" or something like that which brought me to this page: https://www.etsy.com/teams/7722/discussions/discuss/10736601/ Luck I guess. I always liked Paypal shipping, and had forgotten about it.
