    RS1's?

larryminator just reduced his price again. This time it's actually a bargain considering what vintage RS1s have been going for recently.
  3. The thing that might disappear is control to do things like offer show discounts, etc. If you can get a UE-10 or UE-11 with the CanJam or some other discount and was considering doing it, now is probably the time. They probably just relabel some generic speakers. Does anybody know the source of Logitech speakers?
  4. Absolutely. Our anniversary is 9/5 so Dylan was our gift to ourselves. Today I saw that BW was going to be here the same week, so our gift got better. Well, it is our tenth!
  5. Two tickets to see Brian Wilson on Sept. 10 at the Lobero, a small venue in SB. That means that Dylan and Wilson are coming to SB in the same week.
  6. Finally hooked up the Linksys NAS200 I bought from Ian and am in the process of moving my itunes library from a removable disk to the NAS disk. Unfortunately, it looks like it will take 20 hours or so to complete the move.
  7. You could just send him a couple of head-case t-shirts instead.
  8. $40 worth of raffle tickets at the 2006 SoCal meet.
  9. Can't touch my $40 custom AE-2.
  10. fify
  11. Let's start the pool. How many times did lead ears Sam laugh his "evil laugh"? I'll guess 4 times.
  12. Omelet, rosemary grilled potatoes and grilled green beans with garlic. Goes really well with the Chablis.
  13. I was wondering if HC had developed its own version of Andrea?
  14. I doubt that there is anything here everyone agrees with.
  15. Nate, did you check his IP? He sounds a lot like a previously red carded member.
  16. The other two are bigger and won't fit. I should probably switch my avatar to one of them. Maybe soon! Besides, there's only one bird on my head.
  17. WHAT?
  18. Very nice. I have just one question. How long have you had a farm animal fetish?
  19. They probably had a lot of stuff that would appeal to your young, unsophisticated tastes.
  20. A local music store is going out of business. Even though the stock has been pretty well picked over, I was able to get the following (some are used) at 20% off: Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Neil Young Live at Massey Hall 1971 Neil Young Lucky Thirteen Procol Harum The Essential Collection Ringo Starr Vertical Man I'll rip them this afternoon and then actually listen to them.
  21. Happy Birthday Tyll! You da man!
  22. Doing a google of "sourdough pancakes" "southern california" gives a bunch of entries. Here's the first restaurant entry: Pancakes & waffles - Los Angeles Area - CHOW Sep 29, 2007 ... I go to all of the Southern California OPHs at least once, .... the oatbran pancakes or Campanile on La Brea for the sourdough pancakes. ... chowhound.chow.com/topics/446162

    RS1's?

Thank goodness for our different tastes here or you never would have sold me your HP2s.
  24. "Hang Ten" tshirts.
  25. Finally, here are my photos and impressions from the meet. It was great to see everybody at the meet and to meet many new HC'ers. As you can see from my photos, I'm more interested in the people than the equipment, though I listened to quite a few set ups. Being typical meet conditions, i.e. lots of ambient noise, I won't try to be very specific on my impressions and you all should definitely take them with a grain of salt as your mileage will probably vary. The meet was dominated by electrostatic setups. All sounded very nice to me. Saturday evening after the meet I was able to compare O2 Mk I and O2 MkII headphones being driven by Justin's BHSE prototype. Both were great but I preferred the MkI phones. I can't describe why but I definitely preferred them. I spent some time comparing the UE-10 and UE-11 universal IEMs. Again, both were very good. I found the treble on the UE-10 to be recessed volume wise. This is strange as the bass on the UE-11 are more pronounced, yet I found them to be more balanced than the UE-10. If I had to choose one over the other, I would choose the UE-11. Fortunately for me, I only use IEMs on planes and my UM-2 does the trick. Lastly, about the only piece of equipment I didn't really like was Dreadhead's modified D5000. The timbre was good, must better than stock. However, there was no PRAT. These headphones were ploddingly slow. I couldn't live with them. Everything about the meet including the social activities were well planned and run. I'd like to thank Dan (Grawk) for all his work in pulling this off. I had a great time.
