  1. I was wondering if HC had developed its own version of Andrea?
  2. I doubt that there is anything here everyone agrees with.
  3. Nate, did you check his IP? He sounds a lot like a previously red carded member.
  4. The other two are bigger and won't fit. I should probably switch my avatar to one of them. Maybe soon! Besides, there's only one bird on my head.
  5. Very nice. I have just one question. How long have you had a farm animal fetish?
  6. They probably had a lot of stuff that would appeal to your young, unsophisticated tastes.
  7. A local music store is going out of business. Even though the stock has been pretty well picked over, I was able to get the following (some are used) at 20% off: Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Neil Young Live at Massey Hall 1971 Neil Young Lucky Thirteen Procol Harum The Essential Collection Ringo Starr Vertical Man I'll rip them this afternoon and then actually listen to them.
  8. Happy Birthday Tyll! You da man!
  9. Doing a google of "sourdough pancakes" "southern california" gives a bunch of entries. Here's the first restaurant entry: Pancakes & waffles - Los Angeles Area - CHOW Sep 29, 2007 ... I go to all of the Southern California OPHs at least once, .... the oatbran pancakes or Campanile on La Brea for the sourdough pancakes. ... chowhound.chow.com/topics/446162

    RS1's?

Thank goodness for our different tastes here or you never would have sold me your HP2s.
  11. Finally, here are my photos and impressions from the meet. It was great to see everybody at the meet and to meet many new HC'ers. As you can see from my photos, I'm more interested in the people than the equipment, though I listened to quite a few set ups. Being typical meet conditions, i.e. lots of ambient noise, I won't try to be very specific on my impressions and you all should definitely take them with a grain of salt as your mileage will probably vary. The meet was dominated by electrostatic setups. All sounded very nice to me. Saturday evening after the meet I was able to compare O2 Mk I and O2 MkII headphones being driven by Justin's BHSE prototype. Both were great but I preferred the MkI phones. I can't describe why but I definitely preferred them. I spent some time comparing the UE-10 and UE-11 universal IEMs. Again, both were very good. I found the treble on the UE-10 to be recessed volume wise. This is strange as the bass on the UE-11 are more pronounced, yet I found them to be more balanced than the UE-10. If I had to choose one over the other, I would choose the UE-11. Fortunately for me, I only use IEMs on planes and my UM-2 does the trick. Lastly, about the only piece of equipment I didn't really like was Dreadhead's modified D5000. The timbre was good, must better than stock. However, there was no PRAT. These headphones were ploddingly slow. I couldn't live with them. Everything about the meet including the social activities were well planned and run. I'd like to thank Dan (Grawk) for all his work in pulling this off. I had a great time.
  12. Yes, I am. Sorry, Monday was a lost day for me (slept many hours) and I didn't get to it yesterday. My Dad ended up in the hospital again today (he's 89) so I've been there all day. I'm typing this on his computer in Thousand Oaks. Once I get back to SB, I'll post the pictures and a few impressions.
  13. I listened to your setup with the modded d5000 at the Baltimore/DC meet last weekend. Nice to meet you BTW. To me, they sounded really slow. In fact, I would use the word plodding. I'm definititely a PRAT fan and for me the d5000 didn't have it. Sorry. Of course, your mileage obviously varies and that's OK.
  14. Happy Birthday. Hope that you are enjoying your new amp.
  15. Grilled chicken breast with "many mustards" marinade. Also some grilled Yukon potatoes and string beans, both with garlic and rosemary. Yum!
  16. I agree with this. Well, except for the loving Yancy Butler part. But "meh" says it all about Witchblade.
  17. Hatari. One of my favorite John Wayne movies and different than most of them.
  18. Hi Al. Hope your vacation is going well and that my phone calls didn't interrupt it too badly. Yes, we all got linked up back together. Thanks again for your help. Also, Steveio was on his best behavior, so nothing interesting to report there. I slept all afternoon. As soon as I wake up, I'll post my pictures and impressions.
  19. John Mellencamp last Wednesday at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
  20. HP2 > headphiled K340 >> PK2 > UM2 > Darth Beyers > other miscellaneous headphones
  21. I'm still at the hotel in Gaithersburg. I had a great time at the meet seeing old friends and making new friends. Dan did a great job in organizing and everything ran smoothly. I'll be heading out this afternoon with Jeff taking me and Vicki to the airport. I'll post the pictures I took and more impressions tomorrow, after I've recovered from the flight. I've only partied twice now with Steveio, but he was much calmer here in Maryland than he was in Florida. I didn't see him do anything inappropriate. Of course, I heard that Maryland is the last state in the union that will allow him to live in it, so he's probably on his best behavior here trying not to jinx the deal. You still may be completely nuts, but I listened to them both last night and I definitely preferred the Mk I. I didn't listen to them long enough to be able to tell you why, but I liked its sound better. Both are wonderful headphones, of course.
