Regarding Kilemanjaro, at least 3 people I know has been there (independant of each other). Their combined experience is that the climbing walking is easy, but height sickness can be very, very painful. As for me, I would not climb Mt. Everest or any other mountain of significance unless it would save the world. I really don't like heights.

The Pico worked perfectly with my ancient (ppc) miniMac when I tried a couple of days ago.

If you are likly to carry around a laptop (or Mactop) anyway, I would recommend that since it is a flexible solution. At work I use an 2,5" external drive and a Pico for amp/dac and I am very satisifed with that. Some headphones might need a "stronger" amp than the Pico, I somehow feel that the Pico handle my DT770 better than DT880, even if I think DT880 is by far a better phone. You also can use a Squezebox/Transporter as (wireless) dac. After getting both the Pico and a Stello DA100 at the end of last year I regret I didn't pay up for a Transporter (I my defence the Transporter is quite a lot more expensive, and I can use the DA100 as a DAC, but a one box solution would be much prefered). I don't think the Squeezebox can match the Pico or the DA100. 2,5" external drives normally won't need external power so I strongly would recommend them instead of a 3,5" drive (which in it self is *much* larger, (its more than an inch)).

Hear hear!! I once travelled through Kansas on a bus (St. Louis to Boulder), and what a relif when I could see the Rocky Mountains. Kansas must be one of the few places that would improve if heavily bombed.

Hope this turn into nothing else than a bad experience.

Oh dear, the return of the Spanish Inquisition :'(

The power from a ups will be rather noisy as it is more like 50/60 Hz square waves than a sinus. Square waves have a lot of high frequency content.

It's on childrens tv here so I see it with the kids once in a while. It is absolutly among the better series.

I don't remember cleaning the gun as a problem. The user servicable parts are fairly simple. I guess I use longer time to clean a rifle than we used to clean the bore of the M109, but of course there was several people doing the job. What was far worse was after an excerices when everything had to be cleaned for inspection. The tracks can keep a lot of dirt, and the tracks has some rubber pads. Someone seemed to believe that everything was much better when they was black. Hmmm, where did all the shoe polish go Luckily (in that regard) I spent most of my time in the observation post. We only had a Mercedes, a laser and a couple of radios and was able to cary all our gear (except the Mercedes ) .

Mine was bigger than yours , 155mm M109, max range in my time was about 30 km.

Imo they are good "work" phones because they are closed, isolate well and they can take a lot of beating. Oh and they can be driven well from a laptop, but the Pico did good for my pair. Soundwise I think there are better choices, there is a little to much of the wrong kind of bass for my liking.

Happy birthday. For present I only have a virtual orange. Hope you'll like it.

Have to agree on the 80's vs. 50's. The 80's version is among my all time favourite recordings. The timing of his playing is just superb. Just when I start to miss a note, is just when he plays it. I have only listened once to the 50's version and I didn't like it at all. However I reserve the right to change my opinion about the 50's version if further listenings should reveal hidden qualities.

Resistance is futile. By the way I have the same "problem", I try to convince myself to get a cheap tube amp for my Beyer (like I would need another amp), but I know I want a KGSS for my 202 just to prepare for the total, complete and utter surrender.

I like this place very much, a very good mix between serious and fun.

If the length of the arm is correct they would be balanced.

Things to do with websphere application server 6.1 : and Sorry for this. I'm just a little frustrated because I can't get the sucker to setup a jmx connection, which works fine in Jboss (and Websphere community edition). Guess this is what you get for paying big money for software. Feels better now. Thanks.
