  1. It was fun indeed. And yes that is David enjoying that L3000 / Reimyo / Eddie Current goodness
  2. And that is why I sold them. Although the rewire made them much better, I didn't think that I could get used to that coloration. As the Ultrasonistas say, just use them exclusively for a year and your brain will adjust to them.
  3. Pure sonic orgasmic bliss! All of the amps were outstanding, from the HD2 to the balanced Zana Deux to the Balancing Act. The Reimyo CDP was a first class source to drive all of these wonderful tubed Eddie Current amps. 909's L3000 were fantastic, very rich, organic and everything just sounded right about them. It was a pleasure listening to some vinyl through both the Sony (with it's complex electronic linear tracking) and Craig's Harmon Kardon (simple mechanical linear tracking) turntables. The Blue Note 45 RPM reissue (i forgot the artist) sounded great. Craig was a first class host, thank you so very much! It was a great day spent talking with other head-fi enthusiasts and listening to some super fantastic gear!
  4. Looks good so far, I can't wait to see how this turns out.
  5. I like the Slappa idea. I have looked at the jewel sleeves, but have not bought any yet. DiscSox http://www.mmdesign.com/cd-storage-sleeves.htm JewelSleeve http://www.jewelsleeve.com/index.html CD Sleeves http://www.jazzloft.com/p-34281-space-saving-cd-sleeves.aspx I also have too many CDs laying around, my storage is filled with boxes full of CDs.
  6. I will have to stop by Walgreen and get the perfection steamer and try this. I'll give it a try with some vinyl that I don't care about. Hopefully the chemical smell will go away with some use. Thanks David
  7. Do you need a record cleaner (ala VPI, Nitty Gritty, etc.) in addition to steam cleaning your records, or could you scrub the records by hand and then steam clean and get similar results?
  8. I already spent more than I wanted to on recabling these. Although the furutech plug would look nice.
  9. And that's all that counts, right Shiny, shiny.
  10. Received my HFI-780 recabled with APS V3 by Alex. THESE ARE THE BEST HEADPHONES EVER!!! Okay, they're still burning in, but I did notice that the boomy bass has been improved 100% and the highs are detailed but not painful to listen to. The jury is still out on the forward midrange. I just need to wait another 534.34 hours til they're burned in and sound better than a Markl modded D5000!
  11. I would check out the Quad L-ite speakers http://www.quad-hifi.co.uk/downloads/litebroch.pdf I love my Quad 11Ls, very musical, accurate and reasonably priced.
  12. Nice work Nate, real purrtty btw - i really do enjoy the IC that you sent me for xmas
  13. I recently had my mmf-5 repaired and had the m97xe installed. It sounds great to my ears, although I'm sure I could use a better phono stage and / or receiver. I'll have to check out Brooks Berdan also.
  14. David, Congrats on the TT, although I hope you get your cartridge sorted out.
  15. I've been looking for an economical way to clean my vinyl. I look forward to hearing your experiences with this cleaner.
  16. That drummer is awesome! Where do you see anyone doing their job with that much enthusiasm!
  17. The last real concert that I went to was Garbage and the Smashing Pumpkins at the forum. All I remember was that it was really loud.
  18. I would buy the pair with the Red Clou cable. It is probably going to sound better than the stock pair. And if you decide that you do not like the cable, you can unload it for more than the $40 difference in price.
  19. That's why I never play with you
  20. I am currently listening to DSOTM on vinyl and it sounds fabulous. The only time DSOTM sounded better was on SACD in surround in studio 1 of the Capitol Studios.
