The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post
Sechtdamon replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Off Topic
Kevin Gilmore was at Tavsanli/Kütahya/Turkey: The name of the product starts with KG, and at the bottom it says: "Danger, High Voltage" No doubt it was made by Dr. Gilmore. -

Good to know, but I'm asking for enlightment of their structure. Like Dr. posted about soekris 3 posts above. And some people want to check for their closer taken picture too. Thats why I'm posting all my findings. Also, a website (you can check op for it) sells 3 version of it. Are they still selling prototypes, or they have 3 different product for sale? -
Okey, I did nothing much till noon. After I ate, I decide to remove the acrylic panel of the egmont. Cuz I think it was blocking heat dissipation, (I was right to think that way, top panel is much more cooler now.) So I unscrew the nuts of the panel, But it just stood still. Then I pulled harder. It was glued to the top of the upper closure: So, I took off to find a solvent to remove the glue residuals, All I could find was a strong (as a girl of gratis told me) strawberry flavored acetone. So I started to scrub: The finish of the chasis was paint. So acetone removed it too. The egmont looks like this now: I'm visiting afyon for granite top cover, at first avaliable weekend. Well it looks better than with acrylic shit, as it is now, most importantly, It is lot more colder than it was with acrylic on it. I'm so high with strawberry flavored acetone smell now, All I wanted to do is playing with my fleshlight and getting some sleep. Pic Below: Sorry Dusty, my imaginary friend made me do this joke.

Okey, I'll PM you, thanks a lot sir. Lets talk all the things I need to know, I might need a bigger pic, Then I'll make all the PMs more readable and post it on this topic. Ps: nice mice. but clean it for the love of the madcat. -
Dr. Gilmore I was being sarcastic. I do not believe cyro bs. But thanks for the notes. The info you gave can be useful for overclocking tests for CPU and GPUs.

Thanks for helping sir. I'll let you know when I can start this project. Btw, can you upload the pic to directly here? Our fucked up government banned imgur too. -
I Literally sprayed my bear. Why not liquid hydrogen? Fuck, I found a way to be rich: Get some shitty overpriced cables, left them in liquid hydrogen for 2 hours, put a youtube video of your website that shows the process, sell the cables for 20k, profit.

Thank you sir, I'm on a hunt now. I'll drop you a pm about input board too. Can you say how much a decent system might costs? With all the boards required? I can arrange chasis, I guess. -

Thanks a lot Dr. Gilmore. You spare me from spending 3k. Well I'm waiting for your dac then. Or That Holo Spring. That 3k most probably ends up in Birgir's Pocket. -

Dr. Gilmore, you'll try very interesting things with soekris modules, I'm sure about that. And the dac you approved, Holo Spring also have dsd support. So, If that hibiki module with cmos switches can be better than others for PCM only, maybe "Old minded" ones, including me, can do things with it. Also Dr. Gilmore, I posted before, but, what do you think about this dac: It's price is 3k Dollars. OP has it's link. Internals look extremely neat I'm really trying hard to not to buy it. -
Damn you, are you just pushing me to solder a cable to electrostatic hp? I sense evil here... Kidding, sirs. Thanks for encouraging, really. I'm extremely busy with work, and It's going to be like that at least 3-4 months and have no room for soldering table in hotel room which I'm going to stay in for 3-4 months. I'll ask for your consultance when I ready the conditions.
-
That is the smartest thing to do indeed, sir. But I bet the guy is already screening what we're planning. I was being sarcastic sir. My 207's cables are just fine But really thanks for quick guide. And I guess you need a dust free room to open one up. And I do not have one. My hotel room is filled with dusts, that I've to knock the door before I enter in. But, even If I have the soldering skill that enough to work on it. I'd not dare to solder anything that close to diaphragm of the E-stats.

"I’m not an electrical engineer nor do I have any experience with Stax, but I understand how they’re assembled from photos that I studied (ants in my Stax thread) and I have the best tools money can buy and am used to recabling headphones." This is the best part of the story for me. according to his way of thinking, anyone read the whole stax thread on HC should be capable of making their own Electrostatic headphones, amps, dacs, maybe some pastry, things made of wood, granite... I feel bad now, cuz I've read whole thread but I can't even rewire my own electrostatic headphone. Am I just stupid Sirs?

Shit, Birgir bought the soekris modules on sale? Interesting things are going to happen indeed. But I'm also wondering about how is hibiki (can be seen here) module compared to soekris module? -
You are not alone my good sir. I prefer 44.1/16 PCM but the things Dr. Gilmore told are quite interesting. I'd like to try the ideas when i got a capable dac. Did you even answer to him, Birgir? Why the fuck he wants especially LITZ silver for 009? Why the fuck he even wants recable them? Too many stupid questions have been inserted my brain, I doubt if I can sleep now.
-
You crack me up sir.

This: Thanks @Aura for waking me up again. Album is great so far, dark sounding, as it should be. And this album has the most relaxed upper mid range and treble record/mastering in the whole discography of them.

Damn... I can eat literally everything as long as it is tasty but dog or squirrel, I prefer to be a cannibal.

Today I decided to eat something fancy, Külbastı (A Turkish cuisine dish): It's basicly chicken breast fillet, marinated with special spices and cooked on special grill. As you can see, it was served with grilled tomatoes, green pepper, rice, acılı ezme (spicy paste) and a mezze I do not know. Since I cannot cook in my room, I'm discovering all nearby (Taksim, Harbiye, Beşiktaş, Nişantaşı etc.) places for food. So when you come to Istanbul, you'll know where to eat cheap and delicious or high performance/price ratio dishes.

F..ing hell... I can't believe how this high ranking people can eat those kind of hooks.

Look who I found at my hotel: That good creature is really kind and helpful to me. The other is the owner of the armchair and the whole street. And pretty badass.
-
Heck! You are not helping me sir! I'm downloading it with shitty hotel Wireless... And me have to sleep in half an hour to get 6-7 hours sleep before work, have to being at work till tomorrow 6pm makes things worse. Not that I have a bad job, I have a great one, but... I'm petting myself and keep saying "patience, child" to myself now.
-
Thanks for letting me know, even unintentionally. I'm buying and downloading the album. And I cannot agree more what you said about listening to them.
