I know it's no consolation, Craig, but if Cheese was anything like my cats, I'm sure he was enjoying whatever it was.

I'm so sorry, Craig, I'm so sorry.

My cats are indoor only (urban area), so that isn't an option. It wouldn't matter anyway: Silver, my more adventurous cat, once snuck behind me out the front door, and immediately turned around to go back into the apartment with a terrified look on her face.
-
It looks like the toilet in the apartment above that bathroom overflowed many times over who-knows-how-long (get a plunger, Brandon!) , and it finally seeped through. It was foul. Maintenance is good, here, so it'll be fixed soon, but shit: that was unexpected! The cats have recovered. I'm sure they'll hate me again when the litter box goes back into their bathroom (they have a better bathroom than I do).

Dealt with what can only be charitably called a "piss explosion" coming from the ceiling of the cat's bathroom. The plumbers have come and gone, and the bathroom is sealed up for the time being. The cats seem to feel very betrayed.

Oh, Stretch, so naive. I bet he could get at least $150. My early 1969 144.022-69 is worth 3-4 times what I paid for it. I bought it in 2015. It's nuts, the market for vintage.

I found you a Speedmaster, Rossliew.
-
I did it once, on a bus! It was just to show myself that I could!

Well, depending on the older model, especially older models. I owned a Tudor Big Block. The screw-in pushers were my second-least favorite aspect of that watch. It's not worth the irritation if you aren't gonna take the thing diving. I've never accidentally activated a pusher on a Speedy.
-
The Speedy '57 is a great looking watch. I don't know if that is a fair price (I haven't been in the Speedy market, lately!), but if it is, I'd go for it.
-
The big issues is the pusher gaskets. People do take them diving, but accidentally activating the pushers while underwater will let water into the watch.
-
I wouldn't buy one anyway, unless you want the same watch as everybody else in Business Class. A vintage one, sure.
-
If you get an Explorer 2, you want the Polar dial, which makes the black dials a bargain! But Seawolf is right: there is no point unless it's a watch you really want. Have you looked at the Tudor Pelagos?
-
Probably. Thanks guys.

I broke up with my partner.

Of course, without the renovations, they would probably be ruins before long, so it's worth the risk.

The vault did its job. If that damned spire hadn't been put on in the 19th century, the interior would be untouched (it is mostly untouched, because the vault is a firewall, literally, but the spire punctured it in one place, when it collapsed). The designers and builders of the original structure did their jobs, and it's amazing that they came from an era of non-mathematical architecture (and fortunately the Notre Dame designers were conservative: some cathedrals were slightly too ambitious, and collapsed). Fires caused by renovations have burnt several cathedrals.* *I studied cathedral construction as part of my history degree.

I just did my first "climb" session. I need to get a cadence sensor, and I'm sure I'm putting on too much resistance. I was definitely fading at the end, but I feel good, now that my heart rate has come down. I really like the spin bike! Three sessions a week, with weights in between (I've increased my weights, so I do them "on the hoof," again), seems to be my sweet spot. I have maintained my weight, but my waist is slowly shrinking again, and my chest and biceps have gotten larger. More definition in my legs and arms. I will get the remnants of this belly gone, dammit!

The local AD is going to give me a couple springbars, even though I didn't buy this from them, and it's out of warranty. I have bought a few things from them, but just Omega accessories like NATO straps and buckles.
-
Steel bracelets scratch up all over the place, too.
-
Does anybody have a modern-Rolex spring bar I can have/buy? I changed back to the bracelet, and of course one of my cats sent a spring bar flying to who knows where... I have a generic in, but it's not sturdy feeling. I'll just buy one from the AD, but I thought I'd ask, first.
