  1. I think I'm going to call in the morning and get the large, instead. ? I haven't worn anything but this new GMT Master since i got it. It feels like part of my body. I haven't even taken it off to shower. I don't even like this watch, but I love it. It's a much, much nicer watch than a 1675. It might be a "one watch" watch. Too bad I have a lot of watches.
  2. Well, I chose the medium. I'll show pics in 8-10 business days. I'll pick it up from the store, so I can show pics of the large, in gold.
  3. Pics will be forthcoming. I think I'll probably do the medium, but I haven't had the large on my wrist. The Medium has more surface area than my reverse, but the Grande Reverso is nearly as tall as the large Santos. I'll likely give the Reverso to Colie after I get the Santos, so I have to really think about it!
  4. Yes, the medium or the large. Brain fart.
  5. Happy birthday my friend!
  6. My mother wants to buy me a Cartier Santos, this coming weekend, apparently. She bought herself a medium (along with a Tank A), and wants a matching watch with me (which she already has, as we now both have and wear Rolex GMT Masters and Speedmasters, but whatever). I'm not going to complain. I dunno if I'll choose the medium or the small. I go to try them on tomorrow after work. I'll take my GMT and my Reverso, to help me decide. I feel like I'm right in between. The bold choice would be the medium.
  7. No, the chauffeur is a bunch of overworked and overstressed programmers.
  8. Nesbits. Just out of curiosity, how old is the watch now (or how long since last service) and how is it running? If this is for the Aqua Terra, you haven't had it that long, right?
  9. What do you need done? Yes, it’s a 42. This one is basically the same as my pre-moon. The new Rolex GMT, at 40, actually seems larger, due to the lugs and crown and crown guards. Omega hasn’t really changed the dimensions on the Professional, though the bracelet is much more substantial. Most of the other Speedies are larger. I’d love a FOiS. That is an awesome watch.
  10. It looks like every other Speedy, including my other one! Thanks though. I have it on the grey and black NATO, now. Wow the NATO strap is so much nicer on a 6.5 inch wrist than on an 8 inch wrist. It actually fits and adjusts correctly, on my wrist now, so it lays much flatter at the lugs.
  11. Oh, way thinner. It is about 6.5-6.75 (depending on temperature and activity level) these days. A "regular" strap is a little too long, now.
  12. The packaging for this Speedy is beyond absurd. I'll document it, if I get my table cleaned up some day soon. The screws on the bracelet are either over-torqued or had too much locktite applied. This is a brand new watch, and apparently this isn't uncommon. I'll take it to an AD, where I bet they just swap the bracelet. Otherwise, it wears pretty much just like the vintage one. A little shinier, a more curved crystal (I polished a ding out of mine), and I doubt any friends would notice that it's different.
  13. Absolutely on both regards! I do have some taste.
  14. If I'm going to have a modern GMT Master (and it has really grown on me over the course of the day), I figured I might as well have a modern Speedy. An unworn 311.30.42.30.01.005 (boy, that's easy to remember) arrives tomorrow. Quite a good price from DavidSW. I figured I'd get the newest, but I wanted the Hesalite crystal. It appears that this comes with two NATOs. If anybody wants an Omega NATO (assuming that both included straps are Omega), I'd be happy to sell one (or both) for a good price. I would wear this on my grey and black NATO.
  15. I use the red pads. I dunno the difference.
  16. They are wonderful, right? And pics please!
  17. It's growing on me (I've had it for almost exactly 3 hours, now). It's certainly a much dressier watch than the 1675, but also a little undercover. Though I suppose most people will think it's a Sub, even with the fourth hand and the 24 hour bezel. It's really neat how the ceramic bezel changes color with the light, though.
  18. I like the cyclops, always have.
  19. My mother wanted my dad's watch back ("back" being relative: she handed me my dad's watch about an hour after the event, when I made it to the hospital, before he had even been transferred to the ICU), and offered me a price that I was willing to take, knowing that I'll get the watch back, so I think I'm about to buy this:
  20. I think you'll really like it, but I bet you get a Speedy, down the road.
  21. I'm sorry, Ozgur. I had to fire somebody, today, but at least I looked happy doing it.
  22. My wife and I walked around a hippie college town here in Ohio, then we hiked (the planned activity) for five or so miles, then we rock climbed, hen we hiked back, and then we watched The Road, which Colie had never seen. A combination of losing lots of weight and working out with weights really surprised me when I nearly launched myself when I went over the lip of a boulder, today. I am now starting to believe that I’m not fat, I think. I’m not exactly thin, though, but it’s getting there.
  23. I'd definitely see if anybody near you has one (I don't know if they've actually hit retailers or not). I really love V=vintage Rolex, so it definitely does it for me. I take it that you haven't handled a recent one. Hell, my Big Block Chronograph from the early 90s was built every-bit as well as my late-90s Explorer II.
