  1. Two quick listens. Chicken Heads 50th Anniversary by Bobby Rush (2022) https://open.qobuz.com/album/p1a5wnkma1tzb Example: Just 4 versions of the same song: Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Gov't Mule, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram... I like Bobby's more raw blues, but the others are fun. And then more fun. A lot of things still hit: "Well, he may be a fool but he’s our fool" Good Old Boys by Randy Newman (1974) https://album.link/fw6p7j6rpszzd Example: Some really pretty tunes along with the hard hitters.
  2. ".tk"? I ain't clicking on that.... My afternoon: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis (1974) https://album.link/9wdb4bwv4kq4w Example: It has been a while since I have listened to the full album. If you have 94 min of your day. And as I went to post this, I saw a new release is coming out. A Deluxe, or super deluxe or ultra deluxe or something like that. Coming out in June, they have released a few tracks and they sound good, but not a big improvement over this 2007 remaster. And of course you will need 230 minutes of your life to consume the new version. Good luck with that.
  3. Apocalypse & Chill by Delain (2020) https://album.link/nwk07vqwtdzmv Example: In my queue for a little while. But the album title seemed appropriate.... Also I liked the album...
  4. I do like me some space documentaries. I was at Vandenburg, CA during this period as an Air Force brat. I followed the MMU progress closely at the time.
  5. MAYHEM by Lady Gaga (2025) {no link} Example: Overall the album was good, but a little too samey from song to song. The best thing was still the duet with Bruno Mars that they both released.
  6. Multiple by Joe Henderson (1973) https://album.link/tgfvb24bkbtbt Example: Goes a little far now and then into the 70 experimental jazz, but always keeps it musical. I did really enjoy this outing. Lots of flavors to enjoy.
  7. Checking out of the state of Beatbox.. its going well. Wing is blowing up right now. Part of Beatpella House.... Did you pass the K-pop test?
  8. I went outside today. Chopped some wood, smoked my churchwarden pipe, had a Fremont beer.... So that is what a blue sky looks like. ... cool 😎
  9. Bach: Keyboard Concertos, BWV 1052, 1053, 1054 & 1056 by Beatrice Rana (2025) https://album.link/6kncwnnqswkjg Example: A touch slower than I am use to for these works, but all are well done, and very enjoyable to listen to. Looking at their catalog, this might be my first recording from Rana.
  10. Friday Volcano check... Yup, still there.
  11. Just under 7 hours .... The Fall of Civilizations series by Paul Cooper is one of the great things to come out of the internet.
  12. yup and Tombstone... RIP doc.
  13. ^ It was really hard to unsee that.. but I thought I was hungry, maybe not so much..
  14. Cheers Sir Doug.. Happy Birthday!
  15. RIP Tom {{hugs}} Al That was a long battle, grateful that you and family got the extra time with him. and yup fuck the fuck out of cancer...
  16. Howard Shore: Anthology – The Paris Concerts by Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (2025) https://album.link/dcv7wr74cjt4f Example: About half LOTR works, and then a collection of other movie pieces. Well performed and recorded. Not sure it will be a go to at just over 2 hours, but enjoyable.
  17. Short n' Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter (2024) https://album.link/kqfvtrmgqbmhp Example: Seeing what the kids are up to these days.. Overall it is good. It follows a lot of the Swift formula. A few cutting lines, about a very specific person, with a very singable chorus. A huge pile of writers and producers went into this one. I did appreciate this lyric from Coincidence - "Your car drove itself from LA to her thighs" I also enjoyed the appearance of Dolly Parton on the Deluxe release - (Example)
  18. smoked salmon is back on the menu boys... This time I went with chunks rather than one full slab. I like it so much better. it makes life so much easier and now they're bite size.
  19. The Onion has been going off these days...
  20. Tchaikovsky: Serenade for String Orchestra, Op. 48, TH 48 - Barber: Adagio for Strings, Op. 11 - Elgar: Introduction and Allegro, Op. 47 by Charles Munch (1957) https://album.link/rkzptq2wkrt63 Example: Lovely LS recording of the Boston with Munch. Including the iconic Adagio.
  21. first brisket smoke. 14 hours @ 225°, Got up to temp faster than I though. The end bit is a little dry. But a center cut is really tasty. Room for improvement.. She'll eat ..
