  1. This is a very good album. I have it on CD, that I unexpectedly bought on SH forum, completed my Can collection so to say.
  2. I like some tracks on some albums. They always seemed second grade to me, but I am not a fan of prog metal in general. Awake and Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory have some good moments. I like TD side projects like Liquid Tension Experiment and Liquid Trio Experiment, maybe it's because I like Bozzio, Levin & Stevens and number of other things Terry Bozzio and Tony Levin are involved with
  3. How does this version sound? I like GG a lot, and this is one of my favorite by them.
  4. I wish I had time to go to this, so much cool stuff to hear and look at and cool people to talk to and drink beer with. Thanks for the pics!
  5. Nice ribbons you got there
  6. Sabres of Paradise & Various Artists - Septic Cuts (1994)
  7. Wow, did not listen to this for ages, Cool album.
  8. Saturday will work for me, let me know what the plans are.
  9. I'll listen to anything as long as it is interesting to me, don't care what the genre is. Stuff like Prince Charming, Dälek, DJ Cam and Prefuse 73 I can dig, but I can't get at all into any of the overly commercial "fast cars, chicks and money flying around" stuff. Well I do like Kool Keith
  10. I am surprised you even gave it a chance and listened to this crap a few times. I formed an opinion in about 10 minutes after sampling a few tracks.
  11. Dust - "Hard Attack" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkue5a3tpmw Le Scrawl - "Q" Hell yeah!

You hit the nail on the head. These are really good headphones for rock music and metal. For more "well recorded and engineered" stuff I reach for AMT and O2. Still I find myself listening to speakers 80%-90% of the time there days.
  13. Does Keith Jarrett make these annoying "humming and baying" sounds on this one? I fucking hate him for this as I can't listen to any of the stuff he is on because of this.
  14. Nice! I bet once you set them up, speakers and amps stay put, unless you have a hand track or fork lift around house If you hold a meet at your place one of these days I am so coming over. LOL
  15. Well after Magico M5 I imagine most of the speakers there sound poor to so so. I sadly don't have the space or money for Magicos. What amps/pre are you using with M5s now?
  16. By the way, whacha got at at home?
  17. I did listen to them, Coliseum XLS, did not like that system. Dry and kinda boring sounding with unimpressive imaging, HF were poor as well, dynamics were not bad, but they had zero meat and were very lean sounding. I tried to play as much of my music as possible and Legacy room with my recordings had the best bass, very tight and controlled far from flabby, mids were not the best but overall I like them on hard rock type stuff. MDL on the other had flabby boomy bass and, as always, horrible imaging. Nightingale was a nice surprise for me, I will be on the look out for these used. If I see a pair cheap I might grab them.
  18. What kind of music was on when you were in the Legacy room? These speakers could rock, I heard Legacy speakers many times and in my opinion if hard rock and metal are primary focus it is really hard to do better for the price, especially if buying used.
  19. Linkwitz room was very good and I had a nice conversation with Siegfried. I checked out HD Tracks and CDs for sale. I simply don't carre much for most of the stuff they sell, YMMV I forgot to comment about Steinway Lyngdorf room, I hated it, for the money it sucked big time.
  20. I, for once, would have loved to walk into a demo room that played symphonic death metal.
  21. I liked Nightingale room. Italian open baffle speakers with tube gear, good stuff. Linkwitz room was very good. Legacy Audio was nice and Cetoole should check it out. Make sure you check out Wharfedale speakers with huge APL 833TNT amps, very interesting stuff. EgglestonWorks with Rogue was nice, not superb but good. I did not like MBL room, but what is new, I never liked them. I listened to this stuff many many times and it's not my cup of tea at all. Davone Speakers very interesting but colored. I did not get Joseph Audio stuff at all, what is the deal with them? KEF and Revel rooms were not impressive to these ears. I could not get a good idea about TAD, as that room was packed to the brim. Some rooms play stuff and I made them play Tony Levin, nice bass in Legacy room. You will like it. I also listened to some avant jazz and finish folk with frame drums and throat singing, that cleared rooms very nicely I took some picture, but they all came out like crap on my P&S.
  22. I was there today. Not bad overall, but very small and much less exiting than previous expos in NYC.

I like my pair a lot. Don't hear any reverberation and I am not trying to. These are now my go-to rock and metal headphones. YH-100 still get used but less and less now.
