I had some drunken noodles, garlic lover chicken, beef massaman (I think), and wings earlier this evening. It was DELICIOUS!

Is this a good deal?

Brightest Fell was excellent, might be my favourite Toby Daye yet. Labyrinth of Reflections is apparently the first book in a series...of which the rest has not been translated, which sucks, because my reading comprehension in Russian is next to nil. Started Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick...which is just as entertaining (so far) as she is on Twitter, so...very good, highly recommended. Apparently she reads the audible version herself, so I may actually have to get that...although I'm hearing it in her voice reading it, so it may not be necessary. Reading The Core (Peter V. Brett) from the library -- goddamn, this is good. Honest word. Will be checking out Oathbringer from the library next. Started reading Into the Drowning Deep which I won on Facebook (did I mention I won an ARC of a Mira Grant novel? I did.). Also finished Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, which was just as entertaining as everything else he's written.

The feature set/price ratio was good, though, so you're on the right track. I'm actually tempted to send this deal to my work's IT department, because they're so cheap, they won't even buy i7 machines for us, and I doubt they paid much less. I've never bought an HP, so wouldn't know. Dell, MSI, Lenovo, Asus, those are the brands I would stick with. Anyone with more recent knowledge should feel free to add to that list. A good way to check is to go to NewEgg's laptop chooser and sort by ratings...and then buy it elsewhere, because you never know when they're going to send you a coatrack instead of a GPS system, and then try and make you pay the restocking fee as well as return shipping.. -

Happy (possibly belated) birthday! (party favour noise)

My tastes have actually bifurcated since I started. I used to exclusively like smooth pleasant unoffensive -- Kilbeggan, Angel's Envy, Glenrothes -- I find all of these extremely easy drinking. But lately I've also enjoyed Smooth Ambler Contradiction, Whistle Pig (bespoke blend for Perfect Pour, but it's very similar to the 12 year old world cask finish; as well as the 10 year rye), and Hudson 4 Grain, but unfortunately my palate isn't developed enough that I can tell you what it is I like about them, just that they're not as smooth and inoffensive as the above. And there's a complicating factor -- some whiskeys give me a hangover, almost like an allergic reaction (same amount of whiskey, same hydration and food circumstances, so yes, I'm sure it's the whiskey). Birddog, in particular. Tasted fine going down, but I won't ever be drinking that again. Thanks for the offer, would love to hear some suggestions. And cheers and likewise to you and yours.

Happy belated thanksgiving to you lot. I ate just a little too much, but I passed out as soon as I got home., just got up a little while ago. Cheers!

Yeah, I'll probably be making less than one BAI after that...
-
Because I barely make more than one BAI, need to be frugal.

My two favourite synthesized organs are: Prophet 5, patch 3-1, pipe organ flutes -- this is a really easy patch to get wrong, so trying to figure it out on your analog synthesizer of choice is a great exercise in learning synthesis link ...and the other end of the spectrum, Kurzweil's organ emulation in the K2x00 series, which is impossible to synthesize, sounds much more realistic, and is worth obtaining if you can.

HDTracks is having a 15%/20% with codes HD15GIVING/HD20GIVING (20% requires $50 or more). JH Audio is having typical sale with codes -- should I get the 13v2, 16v2, or other? I think I'm finally ready to get a set of custom IEMs.

How does one sort whisky?

My teacher had me learn quite a bit of Bach, especially the two-part inventions. Never thought about playing them on an actual organ, I ought to give that a try. And yes, for the longest time, various renditions of Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony were excellent test pieces I used.

Turn the Page used to be my theme song. I actually had a kid ask me -- in front of his dad -- "why do you wear your hair like a girl?" I looked at his dad, then looked back at him and said, in my monster voice, "children should be eaten and not heard". Or maybe I said, fuck you, you little shit. I forget what I said. I fucking hate kids. Me: Sharon Van Etten, (it was) because i was in love -- RIYL Devics and morose coffee shop singer/songwriter type music.

"Path Not Taken", in particular, sounds very Japan.
